Panthers - last
roosters - second last

Sounds about right.

Eels will be much improved with the addition of a quality 1/2 (Sandow) & the coach having a year under his belt - they are similar to us in that regard.

Impossible to say at this stage. I'm willing to bet it be someone who we don't suspect. Maybe Dragons or Bulldogs.

Look at the last 3 years and no-one could of picked the spooners before the season.

2011 Gold Coast - Top 4 year before
2010 Melbourne - We all know what happened there
2009 Roosters - Semis the year before, pretty much same roster.

It's never the obvious. We were probably odds on the last 2 years and never got it.

I reckon the Storm will absolutely lap up a season where their main competition has gone backwards. Dragons backwards, Broncos without Lockyer, back office issues at Manly. They're really going to be the only consistent team all year.

I think Newcastle will be very strong as well. They made the eight last year only to add two internationals (or four, depending on whether you count Buderus or Tahu) and have signed a coach who hasn't missed the finals in about twenty years. The Cowboys will be strong too- lost Tonga but got Lui and Linnett, and youngsters like Taumaulolo and maybe Pangai will be ready to fire. They've got great depth across the park. Eels will also be big improvers.

Agree on the Storm too Mark.

I think St George will struggle to make the eight.

Agree, I have tipped Storm for minor premiers and Newcastle for premiers.

I think Storm will be by themselves at the top of the table in the regular season but Knights will win on the back of attack.

Dragons if you look at the second half of their season last year they're a bottom 4 team already. It's not radical in any way to suggest they won't make the 8.

I don't rate the Warriors all that high but surely bottom 2 is a bit much? How do you figure? They made the GF last year in all three grades so even if the senior team gets too complacent they have the excited youth yapping at their tails. I think this alone means they'll be near the top 8.

i know mclennan has had success as kiwi coach but he hasnt coached in the nrl before, it might take them a while to adjust to cleary moving on. ,plus they just have a heap of hot/cold type players.even this year i wasnt particularly impressed, they just seemed a bit fortunate at times. if mateo/inu/maloney and those type of players go off the boil they will struggle i think.

Seeing the teams the only real standout as being **** is the roosters, them for the wooden spoon.
