I would pay it off the debt and give Flanno a go. He seems like a good bloke and I just like the way he has handled all this Kade Snowden stuff (as well as other times he has had to deal with the press or taking the initiative of getting the $$$ for the gym).

I love the way he is an underdog...he fits in perfectly with our team.

The only reasonable option I can see the club taking is Paying/ Lowering our dept.

Bennett will never coach the Sharks in my opinion, having said if he was to coach us and win the GF he would be considered a coaching GOD

Flanno has shown no signs of weakness and I believe the boys really respect him, he has handled the Snowden situation well as well as the pressure of working at club that up until 2 days ago may have been going under. I BELIEVE!

Bring a good CEO. Also get a proven coach as well.

The rest on the debt.

Winning matches will mean more through the turnstile, which will increase profits.

The 2 positions above, should more than pay for their wage in added profits.

As much as Ricky needs to keep his' mouth shut, as has been clearly indicated in all of the media.

People consider Cronulla amateurs, and I tend to agree unfortunately.

They need to bring in some experienced heads. Not just employ people which are cheap and expect them to produce!

I totally agree. Everything that Flanno has done seems very professional to me. He addresses the media very well and he did turn us around a fair bit when he took over from Stuart.

I am VERY happy with what I have seen from Flanno an I'm very excited to see how he goes.

Fitz - our man on the inside - thinks a ceo would make no difference, and until we can see what difference a ceo would make, I kind of agree. I also say no to a new coach until we see how good flanno could be, he could be the new bennett. I think the area we lack is contract negotiations and recruitment and I dont know if a ceo would affect these areas.

Other than that Irvine appears to have a lot of bases covered in terms of the development and running the club.

How did that go with Sticky? Also a coach has to start somewhere, what about Wayne Bennett in 1988? He was fresh, you have to start somewhere.

I am backing Flano! Not going to write our coach off before the season even begins! Lets go Flano!

I'm pro flanno.

I like the perfomance unit and believe other upgrades for the players will help lure the calibre of player we need to the club.

If I was going to hire more staff it would be more assistance to Flanno and possible poach one of the best recruitment offices to the club.

I back Flano and Irvine 100% until proven otherwise, and unless these guys need the help I don't want anyone else trying to run things.

The Fisk infighting was just rubbish. Same with Stuart. We don't need that crap. If DI is happy to keep being a sort of unofficial managing director then I am too.

At the end of the day, Fisk and Stuart didn't care about the Sharks. They're gone, they're taking pot-shots. Irvine on the other hand has just secured our future.

If he needs someone to do the more mediocre day to day stuff then I'm sure he'll get someone for it.

You obviously have no idea how much that would cost. Not to mention how unfair it is towards ticketed members and people who are actually doing the right thing and comming to pay and see the games!

12 home games, by an average of 10 000 crowd members at say $20 a ticket is 2.4mil......which is already more than the 2 mil deposit..................so if you add the 2mil you just wasted, to the 2.4mil worth of tickets you just gave away you would have just given away 4.4million!

Thank God you are not the clubs CEO.

and i hope you were joking!

To What Benefit?

Bring a good CEO. Also get a proven coach as well....
The rest on the debt.

This is the sort of mentality we have to be careful to avoid. Too often in the past when we have had some money to spend (and even when we didn't!) we have rushed out and spent like drunken sailors and it got us nowhere but in debt. Anderson, Stuart, Zappia, Fisk, big dollars imported players etc, etc.

It's like the Simpsons episode where the school strike oil. Before they even have the oil out of the ground they have spent the money. Otto wants one of those "guitars that are like, double guitars" and Willy wants a diamond slop bucket. The reason these items are funny, obviously, is that they are of no real benefit.

The same could be argued about the benefit of paying big dollars for a CEO and big name coach. Will they really make that big a difference? I don't care how good the coach is, I doubt he'll have the passion of Flannagan for the Sharks and that's good enough for me until he proves otherwise.

The bank still want their money, give 'em no reason to doubt they'll get it. Keep up the sensible business practices that Irvine has implemented in the last two years

People consider Cronulla amateurs, and I tend to agree unfortunately.

I don't think the events of the last few days show, and especially the last two years, show that at all. It would be amateur to spend money that isn't yours.
