I'm surprised only a few people have Jon Green on the bench. I think we under estimate him as a signing. Teams need workers who aren't flashy. He's played in a premiership winning side, played most games for the Dragons last season when they were a contending side.

My bench would be
Toupo
Taga
Fifta
Green

Green is important as the other three on my bench aren't workers

That would be pretty close to my side, I think.

Perhaps Mills or Wright in the centres though.

I still think Chad needs a bit more time. No doubt there will be injuries or poor form though, so hopefuly he'll get some time in first grade. I dont really think he's ready for a full season though.

I'd also be happy to have Green or Cordoba on the bench. I wasn't all that impressed with what i saw of Fafita last year Tbh.

As soon as there is an injury in the backrow Bukuya slots back there for me. Once that happens it is between Mills, Wright and Leutele to show they deserve the spot.
But for me our best side is with all of those backrowers in it and I think Bukuya is the best suited to the centres. Although at the same time I don't want to move him there because of his huge work load.
However I'm not as worried about that as I was earlier on because now we have addded Ross and Gibbs there is a pretty good work load there, we have Smith and Gall both have big work loads.
I am a little concerned about how much work will get done if we have Tupou, Taga and Fafita on at the same time as they are all impact players.

I think Chad will go on to be a very good first grader for us but he just isn't in the same class as Kelly and Carney. I am a little concerned about whether or not these two will form a good partnership (they might lack organisational skills). So we may well see Chad back in the side anyway. However I feel a season in NSW Cup with the odd first grade game would be great for him.

I think Fafita will be alot better this year. I think he just got his nose out of joint last season.

Why is everyone so concerned about who win pick for Round 1. I know its a bit of fun - i've even picked my own team.

But the way some people go on about all the different possibilities, you'd think that who ever misses out in Round 1 is gone for the year.

I gurantee that it will take Flanno at least the first 6-8 rounds to work out what the best combos are. And is that a bad thing? As long as we win some games along the way who cares.

What I'm trying to say is we have a bit of depth next year and I think that someone big is prob gonna miss out in Round 1. Doesn't mean they wont force their way in at some stage. There are also gonna be injuries. The Round 26 team wont look anything like the Round 1 team imo.

I also think that Robson will get first crack at Halfback.

We need to start the year flying. To boost confidence

ROUND 1 (will probably change after the trials though)

1. Gardner

2. Williams

3. Pomeroy

4. Best

5. Stapleton

6. Graham

7. Carney

8. Gibbs

9. DeGois

10. Ross

11. Smith

12. Bukuya

13. Gallen

----------------------

14. Green

15. Tagatese

16. Tupou

17. Morris/Kelly

-----------------------

18. Kelly/Morris

19. Fifita

--------------------------

I went a different way with my team;

*Graham in the halves still as a running 5/8 and less of a playmaker role

*Carney as half Back to take most of the play making duties (can switch with Graham throughout the game

*Bukuya stays in my run on side due to Graham staying in the halves.

*Pom and Best remain in the lineup, see how they go with an experienced play maker before i judge too much (although if we got a good centre i would drop Best).

*Green to the bench instead of Fifita unless Fifita found his form again.

*Kelly/Morris hs me stumped, Kelly for his unpredictability but Morris for his experience and work ethic, so flip a coin the that one, although i have Morris just in front.

I would like to see Pomeroy given a couple of weeks to prove himself when he gets quality ball because we all know what he can do in attack. If he fails to impress Mills to the wing Best to centre.

Pomeroy hasn't officially signed for next year.

isn't there a few press releases from the club about numerous things that have mentions of the centres etc and he was listed... also wasnt he in the press release of the mock team that was released on the Sharks website as well for the possibl starting team next year??

could be wrong.

but he will be a Shark in 2012, beyond that who knows.
