just a side note, for those who watched the tri nations test last night between australia and great britain, what a game. being a great britain fan,, it was trmendous to (finally) see us win a game against the australians, but the game itself was good enough for any impartial fan. this makes for a much more interesting tri nations competition now, well dun lads

(and willie masons cheap shot on a tiny halfback, pathetic. ive said it all along, mason is a prat)

Great Britain winning last night can only be good for the game, it's been too long. However, I reckon they might have won the wrong game... can they back it up if they make the final? They've got to start winning consistently, not just produce flash in the pan performances. As for Willie, I love his aggression, but he's got to learn to temper it. Until he does, he'll always have a bad name.

see what happens when there is no sharks in the australian side.we end up losing.i dont rate luke o donell anywhere near the level of gallen as a lock forward.gallen should be in the side.

mason wasnt keen to run the ball for about 10 to 15 minutes after he belted fielden.good to see someone finally give it to fielden.he's been mouthing off to much for years.i think willie needs to keep his opinions to himself, and just play hard on the field.big mouths tend to become unliked very quickly.

Exactly right jimmymac, Gallen should be there, I thought the forwards were very ordinary again last night as they have been in all the games so far (with the exception of Petero and Hindmarsh who never give less than 100%). Mason is a liability and Ricky should tell him to go away and have a think about why he got selected in the first place, which is to play football not spend the game mouthing off and giving away cheap penalties. I hate to say it but it's not a good sign for Sharkies fans that Ricky has been unable so far to get the best out of the Australian side which is stacked with the kind of talent GB and NZ can only dream about, also it's not a good sign that he seems willing to tolerate Mason's lack of discipline. We used to be the most disciplined side in the comp but in recent years we seem to be guilty of giving away more stupid penalties than anyone, that is something I hope Ricky will be able to address.

Regardless of the result last night the poms are miles away in standard of the aussies ,come a game that matters eg a final the aussies will beat the poms by 30+. ;)

you are right there croc, we dominate in the games that count. i reckon that ricky will put gallen in and stapleton on the bench and he will be happy with their performances and keep them there for the final of the series.
one thing about next season, ricky will have trouble trying to fit everyone into a position next year. we have so many great players, lets all hope that they fire and we get an awesome result come the finals series.

yeah,i think we'd rather play the poms in the final.there backs are big but too slow for our speedy backs.forward packs match up pretty even.gilmour off the bench has been fairly impressive for the poms, apart from being knocked out by o'melleys shoulder.just on the sharks discipline problems,if ricky can get kimmorley to clear out of the rucks after making a tackle, that would get rid of half the problems.he tackles ok most of the time but he just carries on in the tackles too long.

I disagree about Luke O'Donnell, he is a brilliant player and HUGE workhorse, that is not to say Gallen doesn't deserve to be there though. O'Donnell is awesome and a hard pr**k.

In regards to Mason, he is a cat, in my opinion he always has been. When he first became a big name, it was through running at tired forwards 1020 out or running at halfbacks and 5/8 and centres out wide. I really question his committment to the hard stuff 10 or 20 out from our own defensive line, he seems to go missing there. Not to mention his cheap shots. I remember a couple of years ago he tried one on Brent Webb in a Friday night game Warriors v Dogs and when Webb shaped up he went to water. CAT.

I don't think either O'Donnell or Gallen is a genuine number 13, they are both better suited to the 2nd row. In my opinion Australia's strength is in the backline, both the Poms and Kiwis have achieved parity in the forwards so far during this series and ultimately that is where games are won and lost. I think the Kangaroos are missing the impact of blokes like Webcke and Kennedy, big time.

I actually think against the poms they just thought they would do it easy to be honest, their attitde is what killed them.

Great White, as you can see in the following article, Sharkies legend Tommy Bishop would seem to back up your comments about Mason!

Yes we need to maintain decorum on this site. We not only want onfield dominance over the Drag Queens in 2007 but also to retain our moral authority off the field as well, rather than sinking to the levels of pettiness and inanity to be found on the Dragons Army forums! :)
