I like it I'm theory but would be a bit hard I reckon. Yes they look at no balls every delivery but the camera is honed in on the bowler's foot. You need to see the bowler releasing the ball and where the batsmen is.

I have zero sympathy for batsmen dismissed by mankad. As Starc said, bowlers have to stay behind the crease so bad luck if the batsman doesn't.
Yeah I agree with the no sympathy for mankad. If you're out of your crease when the ball is live then it's your fault.

There's just so much stigma attached to it now though I don't know whether it's reversable.

Re the camera, the video ref would have access to all the tv cameras wouldn't they? I guess like everything else it wouldn't end up being used for just the obvious incursions though. There'd be whingeing if they missed a close one and it affected the result.

I used to think mankad was one of the cheapest piece of **** plays in the game, but the more I’ve thought about it over the years, the more I’ve soften the stance.

Put it this way, I play baseball and have for 20 plus years, when I’m a runner at first, I take a lead, do I complain if the pitcher picks me off and I get out? No. I got what I deserve for taking too big of a lead to try to steal second.

And before someone jumps on me and says they’re two different sports, the intention of the action is the same. Im taking a lead off first to try to get to second quicker, the non striker is doing the same.

I used to be the same but I think it's fair play now.

This is a really good read. Brydon Coverdale's comments are spot on imo.

Scotty Boland hard done by. Reaaaallly hard done by, that really sucks. Im surprised they went with an extra batter in Renshaw alongside the allrounder in Agar, although I’m happy to see Renshaw get an opportunity but I would of stuck with Agar and Boland.

Yeah I would have been comfortable with Carey batting at 6 for this Test.

I'm a Renshaw fan though so now he's there I hope he scores some runs.

If it was me, I’d be saying ‘sorry Uzzie, but we’re sending the Saffas straight in tomorrow’. They can’t afford to waste time with the forecast the way it is. Get stuck into the South African’s batters ASAP.

Bill Lawry would have done this when he was captain.

Even without the milestone 200, some captains make the opposition take to the field for an over or 2 in the first session before declaring, just to annoy them.

Yeah I thought of Bill as well.

I'd let him get his double.

Good game in the BBL. Thought the above the waist call against the Hurricanes was very harsh.

Crappy weather in Sydney today, reckon there won't be many overs bowled. Lucky to get 40 I reckon.

We may as well come out and bat, score quickly and declare at 550. Hopefully get them out quickly and enforce the follow on.
