It was great to see new blood out there tonight & it showed that the Sharkies have some promising players for the future.

Watts to me, is a find and more than justifies Ricky's decision to opt for Watts over Seymour.

Opinions on Watts debut

Agree, Watts had a great debut, he shat all over Dykes with his kicks. At least he never kicked it out on the full TWICE!!!!Gallen deserved man-of-the match EXCEPT for his laydown.Thoughts on his head high tackle that's on report? Was there anything in it? Do we need to worry? I think his record at the judiciary is poor.

Yes Watts showed a lot of promise tonight, he looks to have a good step and a nice long kicking game. Hopefully we'll see a fair bit more of him in first grade this season. Hard so far to compare him with Seymour but on first impressions he possibly looks to have greater playmaking ability; while Seymour appeared to be defensively sound, he didn't seem to offer a lot on attack in his handful of first grade appearances for us.

I agree Capmar, his defence was spot on and he had a fine debut, didn't put a foot wrong out there.

Would you say Watts is a Ranga/Bloodnut/Redhead?

Or more Strawberry Blonde?

It was a big debate I was having. Stapleton reminds me of Groundskeeper Willy.

Yeah Watts had a decent debut, but obviously a lot can not be gathered from just one game, I did think Blake Green played well on sat night here in Canberra as well.

his nickname is apparently 'milky' because of his pale skin and fair hair so i assume hes blonde

Watts on his debut out played Dykes. I reckon keep him 5/8 next week with Noddy. Dykes is hopeless. Was he trying to make it hard for us last night. Watts kicking game was alot more effecive than Dykes' kicking game (2 out on the full). He looked promising tonight.

Yeah personally I don't think that Dykes had a great game and I doubt he would be overly pleased with the way he played either, but he was getting some big wraps from the TV commentary team and also in the print media, were they watching the same match?

future looks bright, not a huge fan of noddy but he will be invaluble to the progression of watts and green for the next two seasons.his experience will be an asset to our club and the futures of the two young blokes(green and watts).thought watts had a safe not a shining debut.am gunna have a ball this week giving it to all those sooky draggies.

besides the two out on the full kicks, i thought dykesy went alright.
he was copping plenty of heat from the dragons all night. i don't think he got a kick away without atleast one Stg forward being in his face.

but without him i doubt watts would've gone anywhere near as good.

thats why i'm looking forward to the next couple of years too wangshark.
should be good times
