After playing for Country in 1972, Fisher joined the Sharks the following year and quickly proved the club had backed yet another winner.
That season the Sharks were headed for the stars under the guidance of Tommy Bishop who was most impressed with Fisher's ability to handle the fullback role.
He played soundly throughout the year and realised every player's dream by making the grand final against Manly. But as luck would have it he suffered a serious injury early in the game but battled on gamely before being replaced by Rick Bourke.
An elusive runner with good hands, Fisher is rarely caught out of position and is a heady tactical kicker.
