I'm starting to think Graham needs to stay at 5/8. If it ain't broke don't fix it. He was a tower of strength last night. Kelly will need to show he can do the same. Be a leader. Would Kelly be better used like they use Presto at the Titans or barba at the dogs for a while? On the bench as impact instead of a back up hooker?

I don't agree. He barely ever takes the right decisions at 5/8 and even though he scored last night, it was because he held the pass off too long which he always does and the roosters players were dumb enough to run past him.

He is a great young player but isn't the guy who gives the backs good ball, he is a ballrunner. Exactly the same as bird when he plays 5/8. Kelly 6, graham in the backrow is our future.

I agree that wade should be wrapped up before the start of next season, he is our future captain and will attract plenty of interest. People might not agree but he is our best young player. And still has the potential to be alot better.

I don't agree at all. When he consistently has options (i.e. players in motion) he has shown as he particularly did against the Raiders (he broke the line on 4-5 occasions) that he can kill it.

I should of been more specific, he is a good ballrunner but doesn't take the right decisions when making passes. He either gives it out the back when he shouldn't or gives a flat ball when it should be out the back. He will learn this in time but he isn't natural and if AK comes through he can play in the backrow where he will be better.

Obviously we watch different games. His decisions IMO have been exemplary when he's had the chance to make decisions. I'll leave it at that :cheers

Kelly played NSW Cup last week and scored a double. Flanno admits that Townsend is struggling with the rigours of first grade football and needs a rest. Next week for the Cowboys game I reckon it will be:

6. Graham
7. Kelly

It will be interesting to see who is the halves pairing this week, when AK & Wade were together or are together I believe we are a better team although Wade tends to make some ordinary decsions.

When Wade plays w/ Chad imo Wade himself goes better or makes less mistakes, I put this down to Wade being or having to take on the organizing role when he is paired up w/ AK, as I said, its a tough call to make cause we as a team gain something w/ AK but lose out as well.

I dont know if we can have all three together?

It might be a necessary thing if Chad is struggling that badly.

He is a bloody solid bloke too, Id love to see him take the line on a bit more, he would be mighty hard to tackle.

I couldn't agree more Josh. He's exactly where Bird was when he came in. Talented, hard to contain, but his game is to take the ball through the line rather than to pass before it and that's what we should work on.

When Graham makes some good plays everyone says "keep him there" but the times he makes the wrong decision far outweigh the time he makes the right one. Other than the ones he's scored he's been involved in about 3 tries all year, so don't get too caught up with one great pass (and the pass to Hotdog was great). He is very talented but does not fit well in the halves.

What I remember most in terms of mistakes is earlier in the year he was making plenty of line breaks but bombing the final pass. He can tackle and he's strong but I think his positioning/technique sometimes let's him down. He really gives 100% in attack and defense and tries to make something happen. He's a great talent and I would say our best signing of 2011 with a view to the future. I can't wait to see what he can do in his mid-late 20's. I hope he doesn't lose too much speed if he bulks up more for the backrow.

He may well be our future Gal.

Precisely. This just further supports the idea that head be better as an edge running second rower, AK at 5/8 to throw some pizazz around, Chad at 7 to lead the troops. AK can also attack down the right while Wade goes down the left.

If we had some decent backs, with our pack and this halves/lock combo, we could smash ****s every week

Every time Graham has run the ball he's looked threatening and broken the line in the majority of instances. That in itself I would have thought has shown that he's made the right decisions on when to run and when to pass etc. Compare that to Barrett who on the majority of the occasions he made his telegraphed runs was hammered. Consider also that Graham was placed out of position in the first 8 rounds of the season at halfback.

It's just a matter of producing a more consistent output throughout the year; that comes through the collective form of the team. Give him players in motion (options) and that will occur IMO.
