Sharks Re-sign Graham

The Sharks have re-signed utility Wade Graham to a new contact which will see him remain at the club for a further two years.

Graham, who has played both back row and five eighth for the Sharks during the 2012 season, was pleased to be extending his stay through to the end of the 2014 season.

"I'm very happy with the decision I've made and happy to have settled my future for the next few years with the Sharks," Graham said. "The club is moving in a positive direction and I'm looking forward to being a part of that."

Likewise Sharks coach Shane Flanagan, following on from the signing of Panther Michael Gordon for the next two years, was understandably thrilled to have beaten off the advances of a number of other clubs in securing Graham's services for a further two seasons.

"Wade is a very important part of our team here at the Sharks. He has made a position switch to the back row this year and is doing a great job there, but he has that utility value, where he can play lock, second row, five eight or even in the centres, which makes him a vital part of our squad," Flanagan said.

After joining the Sharks at the start of the 2011 season Graham has showed outstanding durability and toughness to go along with his considerable skill level. Last season Graham turned out in all 24 games for the Sharks and so far this season has played in each of the teams' 11 NRL matches to date.

Just 21 years of age, Graham, who debuted in the NRL for the Panthers while still at school, has already played 77 NRL games, including 35 for the Sharks.

His signing follows on from the previous positive recruitment moves at the Sharks, which has involved the retention of key personnel and the strengthening of the Sharks back line depth with the addition of Gordon.

How good is it being a sharks supporter
If the development gets approved our club will just be awesome

Giddy up !, This is great for 2 reasons, 1st we keep him at out club, 2nd it upsets Phil (I know everything) Gould.
