There is a difference between consistency, and just plain out not having a kicking game!

I am happy to stick with him for at least a comp, but, if a proven halfback with a quality kicking game bcomes available, we would be silly to take the risk that Graham's kicking game is going to go from bad to really good.

Anyway not meant to be bagging him, I am stoked we have him, BUT, at least I would expect people to straight shoot, his' kicking game has been average it really does need to improve.

To say Graham plain out doesn't have a kicking game is a massive exaggeration and plain out wrong.

He did not have a good game off the boot against Newcastle. No debate over that. But I think he's shown he can have a good long kicking game. Gallen has acknowledged a couple times that is where we were outplayed with Mullen getting them out of trouble with kicks. So I'm sure it'll be worked on.

Its obvious that over the past 2-3 weeks Wade has been taking on the line more with the ball - a good thing. Now he's struggling a little with 5th tackle options taking too long to sum up whether to kick, pass or go himself.

I think anytime a proven halfback with a quality kicking game becomes available every Club looks at them, especially if their's hasn't improved in a season. But its only been 6 rounds so far - I'm confident last weekend was a hitch and he'll improve on that in the very near future.

Maybe a bit more structure is needed to help in his decision making. Like others I'd like to see him stand a bit deeper to give him that extra time.

Can you please outline games when specifically he has had a good long distance kicking game?

As I am yet to see one. The best I saw was last season when he put up a couple of bombs and got results, but thats different to kicking a ball to open space or kicking a ball long and having it pull up in the in goal.

Anyway the last thing I want to be doing is giving Graham grieve but I just dont see when and why people keep saying he has shown he is a quality kicker BUT can be inconsistent at times.

Blix,
Go straight to the top mate. Ask Wilson that question. He is the only one that truly has all the football related answers on here.

His long kicking game was great against Manly.

Was at a wedding so missed the match.

Oh well, if he did have a good kicking game that match that is great. Something I still have to wait to see myself.

he is hit and miss at the moment with his kicking game, but he is in-experienced. he will improve. he is 20 years old. plenty of time to improve if he is shouwn the confidence of the coach and staff. and especially the fans.

I'm glad you simply missed it and weren't going to argue about it.

Basically, the Manly game he was great. Kicked for almost 600 meters and he found the grass so much it wasn't funny.

Against the Knights he had a poor game.

Young kids are going to be like that. Personally I think Wade Graham is capable of having a great long kicking game with time. At the moment he is learning very quickly I reckon. The Knights game had a very stiff breeze and I think that came into it.

Yeah Wade's long kicking game against Manly was something to admire, short still needed some work. Just trying to remember (was pretty smashed after that game because of the result and try to wipe it from my memory), he stood a lot deeper that game then Newcastle and previous game.

hes got a massive boot on him. remember in the manly game when we got stuck on our on 20 on the 5th tackle. he booted the **** out of it and made it go dead. which at the time was worth letting them get the 20m restart because we were in massive trouble. i believe in him. hes frigging 2 years older then me and i dont know how id go about tackling and playing under the pressure he would have to.

cut him soem slack boys. hes our halfack. lets get behind him!

Also let's put it into context with last year. He's an upgrade on Tim Smith whether it's short or long kicking. Would love to use Kelly more for the short kicks though.
