Wade was asked when he will be back .
Said he trained strongly last session and could be back next week OR maybe the week after .
I hope Fitz errs on the side of caution and doesn't play him against Storm,
Unless they name Cronk then Wade can wait until our game against Manly and come off the bench

Not sure why it’s strange?

Has played very average over the last 3 years, the 50% of the games he has played.

Has been average in a poor forward pack. Now with new players such as finucane, McInnes playing much better then he has in numerous years and players like Talakai, Nikora, Teig and others also playing better in a forward pack that is succeeding not sure why he just pushes them back out of team without at least having to come from bench?

Not to mention in relation to him being captain, I have heard a lot more in relation to the players firing up due to finucane then I have ever heard in relation to Graham. Just my opinion…
Moylan is a pretty reasonable test case

Dunno if it’s a it’s just plain luck, original misdiagnosis or whether the club just wants to put a positive spin on bad news but for me, the past few seasons when we’ve had players getting injured, the club puts out the injury updates on their web & whatever they list as likely return date invariably gets pushed out further & then further again.
It’s rare we have a player who comes back earlier than the original anticipated return date.
Here’s hoping both Wade & McInnes prove me wrong
March 2 they said 4 weeks, it feels like our medico’s must throw darts @ the dart board when suggesting injury time frames 😂

It's a bit of a concern. You would think an injury like this would be fairly straight forward in terms of recovery timeframes - give or take a week or two.

The fact that the club can't/won't give any definitive updates is also a bit strange. Whenever a reporter has asked about Wade Fitz has just shrugged off in a very non-committal way

It would be good if they could provide a bit more details ie complication to recovery, it's flared up at training etc. Give us something!

They really don’t have to do anything but my point was that intentionally or not, the past few years they are not accurate at all when diagnosing injuries or how long player x will be out for

Of course, it’s be silly not to considering it was thought he be 4 weeks & it’s now hedging towards 7 weeks we should ride it out.

Don't think anyone is saying play him even if not 100%
Just wishing we had more up to date information as the info we have suggested he'd be close and yet not even in the 24.

Definitely no need to rush him, especially with Nikora back on board.

I find that this is not just limited to us. I see a lot of complaints from supporters of other teams that their injury info is so vague and incorrect. I don't think it is something the NRL considers important, they have too many other things to think about at the moment! But it is definitely a source of frustration for us fans. Not sure how it is going to get any better though, the return dates are only estimates after all. Different people heal better or worse than others, so it is hard to tell.

Also injuries not always simple.
Could the team doctors/physio give a weekly update? for sure
Do they really care to or want to? no

Maybe the answer for Wade the last two weeks for 'he's almost there just not quite fully comfortable with it yet' - perfectly reasonable that that could be the situation but doesn't make for a great 'club statement' especially two weeks running. Can understand why they'd just say nothing.

did he have surgery? if not high ankle sprains can take 10 weeks to get mobility back

we havent missed him so far, teig has been unbelievable so why not let him get to 100%?
Yeah looks like he did... NRL Physio (on Twitter) originally said normal return to play is 6 - 8 weeks for a syndesmosis injury that requires surgery.

Still within that time frame.

We're def getting less info than normal. Where is Tracey? NRL reported him as headknock but he went off with groin injury. Did Ikuvalu have syndesmosis surgery? I thought I saw suggestion he was going to but then he's popped back up quite quickly... back in 24 before Graham even.

Berrell disappeared for like a month or more and no report.

Wade def still within reasonable timeframe just confusing he's been reported as due back the next week a couple times but Fitz doesn't want to talk about him.

See I really don't care, they'll be back when they're back.

Fitz mentioned him in the press conference today. Said he is training with the team but, due to it being early rounds he is not rushing him back. Wants to really make sure he is 100%.

Also said Wade is keen to get back on the field.

I can only imagine that because Teig is playing well no need to rush. Happy to wait as long as possible.
