Bird is a rummaging type player. Suited our team style so much and his ability to pop an offload or a nicely timed short ball in traffic was invaluable

Him and carney in the halves would be a clash of egos and playing styles.
All the best teams have a dominant half and the other is a reliable player who can make a mark when need be.
Foran and DCE is a perfect example 98% of the time DCE does the work. But foran enters the game whenever necessary.
Same as Cronk and Hampton- Although Hampton has heaps of work to do, he still enters the game off the back of cronk.
At the moment- Widdop and williams/witt- Widdop being dominant.
In no way is Sezer a lead half. Kelly leads the attack but if sezer needs to step up he does so.
Holdsworth and Robson dont have the same ability, to turn on the skill and lead the club in Todds absence, but Nuu brown does, and with carney, he can turn into the general and simply enter the game when he sees the opportunity.
Oh and we needn't worry about Wade leaving. So stress less.
The media just loves kicking us while were down.

I really like Wade and genuinely hope he gets a contract extension. He has ability, shows passion for this club and has a future here no doubt. I would defs be quite upset if I ever saw him in another clubs jersey. It would make me puke.
Having said that IMO he is the most over hyped, over rated first grade Sharks player amongst fans.
He is so hot and cold and has not delivered on all the promise and praise leaped upon him. I know he has had injury set backs but so do most players at some point - that's part of the game.
But he really has had some long stretches of time where he doesn't contribute a whole lot on the field. 500k is too much for him based on his performances over the years with us. 400k is on the money I think considering he has the added responsibility of leadership and captaincy on the field.
Promising signs this year though that he might slowly be on the way back up. I really do want to see him do well in the BWB

I can't either. I think ASADA really affected him more than others last year. If he can just get clearance on that (wouldn't we all love that) he might come into his own.

Yeah your probably right, he's definitely got the ability just needs the consistency.
