The sooner we move Gal to prop and assure Graham his spot in the starting side at lock the better. He seem's like a true Sharky, but I can't see him putting up with playing off the bench for the next year or 2 while Gallen holds his spot in the backrow. If not, I'm not sure what Tupou's future plan is, but once his contract is up that $350,000 price tag will be slashed somewhat ($200,000 if he stays).. leaving another $150,000+ to throw at Wade.. I'd be happy paying big bucks for him to play off the bench to let him know his future will be at the Sharks

Setting him up as VC would be a great move as well, he's obviously a great communicator and step in for Gal. Agree with the Bird comparisons.. tough as nails.. his brain snaps are surely due to over enthusiasm though, which will settle down once he's had a bit more game time. Would love to see for 2013;

8. Gibbs
9. De Gois
10. Gallen
11. Bukkuya
12. Smith/Lewis (G. Bird in 2014?)
13. Graham

I don't think He minds where he plays as long as he's in the team and has the C against his name

I'd think Gal would want what's best for the team. He did say after last years SOO he liked playing prop. He also said it was up to Flanno as to when he may move into that position permanently (I think?). Flanno has stated he wants Gal in the back row for at least 2 more seasons.

If Gal could play 60-70 mins at prop every game, imagine the benefits of keeping the other rotating props fresh with interchanges you would save..

This strategy is by no means the best for the longevity of Gal's career though!

Gallen with 13 on his back still plays like a front rower. No matter what number he has on he still the one taking the hitups. The beauty about Gal is he can play straight up the front or on the fringes of the ruck with some nice ball skills to put someone in a gap.

I'd be putting Gal in 8 or 10 and probably putting Graham into lock or second row with either Bukuya or Smith (if Smiths leaves then we put Lewis into the backrow with either Graham or Bukuya). We are very lucky to have options.

remember watching him play against the roosters in the finals a few years back against the panthers and thought to myself that we signed the wrong guy, thought brad tighe would have been a better option (he rejected us anyway)
