In my opinion If a player is ducks into a tackle like last night then it should not be a penalty as far as I am concerned.

Also - if you're the player being tackled (normal tackle / shoulder charge) you have the responsibility to put your head in a safe place.

It's common sense. Sometimes you get hit too quickly to do that (like Hoffman) - but that's life.

I know we signed him for another 2, but I reckon mid next year they throw another contract at him. Barring any injury, he is safe as for the sharks future. Sign him long term next year, to avoid the poaches in his last season

I was hoping for a three year deal
Maybe the club decided 2 years then next contract tempt him with the captaincy to get him to sign on longer on not such a high wage

Probably his manager, trying to find a few extra bucks in a few years time when another bidding war comes.

Either way, provided the club respect Wade the way they have, I dont think he will go anywhere. I remember when he first came to the Sharks, maybe even before he'd played with them, he was on Fox Sports and said, the club was rebuilding, and he was stoked to be given a role in that rebirth.

Wade first came to the club as a quiet kid now Flanno and coaching staff have turned him into a quality first grader.

He has become a solid footballer who knows what to do, his aggression speaks for itself. I can see Wade playing origin in the future and taking on a leadership role at the Sharks.

Every now and then a great club player comes along, could Wade be the next, I would like to think so, well I hope so....

Congrats to our recruitment and coaching staff who have helped shape Wade into the footballer he's becoming.

Keep up the brilliant work Wade.

I've been thinking about Wade's case with this tackle on Hoffman. I'll be filthy if he misses games over it. The judiciary can't be suspending dudes over accidents. This is a contact sport and yes, efforts should be made to protect the head, however I think sufficient efforts have been made in suspending dudes over swinging arm high shots. It's impossible to throw a blanket ban on shoulders because guys naturally possess two shoulders and players naturally use them when tackling. the judiciary should assess such referrals with common sense: there was no obvious intent to contact the head, in fact he went in with arms around after the hit making it a text book tackle.

The contact with the head was purely an accident brought about by Hoffman's attempt to burrow through. Therefore common sense would throw the case out as you shouldn't be suspending a player for another man's mistake. If Hoffman wanted his head protected, he shouldn't have put it there.

The poor bastard shouldn't have even been back there to clean up that kick. He was in disneyland several tackles in the previous set. Was absolutely smashed. Their trainers should have had him off before that play. Graham's hit was great, but the only reason it looked as bad as it did was Hoffman went down like a bag of ****. That happens when you are already have out of it.

There was nothing in it, it was a good old fashioned hit,
players get hits like that week in and week out and nothing is said.

I can see some soccer style fake injuries to try and milk penalties creeping into the game,

If he gets time or points off for that then I give up.

I don't like how the refs are changing the game through some stupid decisions.

Graham's got plenty of ammo to use in his defence including the above...if he misses even a week thats bullshut

Got this off the web site sports news first.
Wade charged with grade 1 careless high tackle. Will not miss match regardless of plea. Dont know what points he gets (should get 10/10 for a beaut hit).
The man was on fire on Friday.
