Our Wingers need to pick up their act, Stapleton has only been playing a few games and already he's taken over Gordo

You don't need an article to tell you that our wingers need to pick up their act sb18.

Still it's interesting how they compare to some other players that you'd think would be a lot better.

I'm surprised Fergo is so high too for both wing and centre.

What I also found interesting was Robbo is rated so high, I know his been doing good defensively this year but compared to some of the others his got in 2nd place, a good sign for our halves, Carney is also fairly high, of course he would be though, was expecting that

Heres an interesting read I got about the top defensive backline players during the year so far

http://www.nrl.com/revealed-the-nrls-backline-defensive-heroes/tabid/10874/newsid/68178/default.aspx

Interesting maybe. But giving Soward Wraps for defence opposed to other 5/8s (not just him thought) is hard. He defends wide. Sutton is more about marking 2nd rowers and his opposites, not the wingers and centres. Soward has a go yeah, but just cos his percentage is higher, doesnt mean he is making more tackles, or more to the point, more important tackles.

Linnet would of been a really good pickup, the only reason people on here didn't want him was because of his injuries. He's been healthy this year.

Good to see John Williams is our best defensive winger as i suspected, he is SOOOOOO much higher than gordon!

makes no sense why he is in reserve grade

John Williams is a measly 3% more then stapleton on the same side. Yet Stapleton has just come back from a bad injury and offers way more in attack when used. I certainly know who i prefer.

Very interesting read, but like all stats it doesn't always tell all. Different playing styles, different defensive structures and different sliding patterns. It all can change the way a player looks on percentage stats.

Playing less games can also help Stapos defensive stats.

I want our backline to read;

1. Wright
2. Stapleton
3. Pomeroy
4. Best
5. Williams

IMO that is the best backline we can field at the moment.

The Linnett miss still hurts, should have gone all out for him last year.

Seeing Sam Perrett up there in defense aswell makes me comprehend as to what a buy he could have been if we could have spent money on him this year, he's capability not just in attack but also in defence, we've missed out on Linnett and now on Perrett

We can only hope we didn't snare Perrett because we need the money for Jennings.
