I think this will turn out to be a dud signing but I really hope I'm wrong. Can you imagine Canterbury fans if we manage to turn him around after the Ennis scenario!

send this bloke over to the 9's for sure.

be nice if we could add that to the trophy cabinet too on top of the world challenge.

Yeah someone mentioned he was training with us but hadn't signed anything as yet.Wouldn't be surprised to see him head to the UK.

MAKING T-REX ROAR
Most Sharks supporters thought Flanagan was crazy for signing Tony Williams.

”T-Rex” has been anything but fearsome in his four seasons at Canterbury but Flanagan is excited by the challenge of helping Williams recapture his barnstorming best.

“Tony is a Test player and has played at the highest level, so I’ve got to get him back to that,” he said.

“That’s just a challenge for us as a training group. Financially it was also a good situation for us and Tony has got a lot to prove.

“It isn’t going to be easy for him and it’s going to be really tough pre-season. It’s just a one-year deal and let’s have a crack at it and see if we can make a difference.”

Yeah not doubting they've signed him, just thought they would announce it (along with the others). Maybe waiting for the cooling off period to expire.

I vaguely remember reading somewhere that it was sort of a train and trial in the pre-season type of thing? i.e. we could ditch him if we don't think he's up to scratch in the pre-season. Could swing both ways I guess?
