Look at the 'official' comp now the NRL - hard to take it serious some times. At least Super League knew what it wanted to be

Seriously though, I supported newy in 97, and i hated the super league, which is what you did when you were from newcastle, but i still believe brisbane and newcastle were premiers that year. Both teams won their respective comps, im sure the players out there playing the games in either comp will tell you its no different.

Although i have never seen the broncs v sharks GF i would say the broncs would get the win, The knights just put so much into that game and they would have probably found it hard to get up again

Not sure what the capacity was, doubt it was much more than 10000. Used to love watching the breakers play there back in the day, never went to a mariners game though.

brisbane were the best team in superleague that year. we chocked badly in the gf and the broncos played pretty awesome footy.

we would have beaten newcastle, as would have brisbane.
