last year we were awesome, and one of our best players was brett seymour.this year we are ****e, and seymour has gone missing. what is different here? yes, i know that barrett is here now and kimmorley is gone, but i think it is more than this. my thought is, that seymour is a much better player when he is running wider in the 5/8 role, rather than in first reciever, and i recall barrett coming into grade and having really good games in the number 7 shirt, even at origin level. i think it's time to swap them over and see if that makes any difference. seymour impressed me last year with his running game(he scored a few try's last year throwing dummy's out wider of the ruck and running himself) as well as his ability to pass or kick to the right outside back to result in try's, and this year he has done none of this. put him 2 wide ricky, and see how he goes with the extra time he will have. just my opinion, what do other think?

I was never a fan of the Seymour/Barrett halves combination from the get go.
They play too much of a similar game, we had this same problem with Noddy and Dykes and even switching them around wont work !

I cannot believe that certain factions withinn the club were so determined to split up the Noddy/Buster combination, they were a lethal and unpredictable combination who took us to the top af the ladder.

Now we have a real problem in the halves and i'am not for 1 second doughting the ability of our current 6 and 7 but the fact is that they are too predictable and therefore easily shut down.

Green is useless and has to go, he's just not 1st grade material, next is to make the big call who will have to go in the current halves combination it is a decision that must be made as crazy as it seems.

I think its a lot to do with buster`s knee reco, they can take up to two whole years for you to recover from fully, I can imagine his confidence with his knee is very low, and therefore his speed and footwork have really suffered.

You say last yr we were awesome.. yeah....

Last yr there was a certain player who is now killing it with the knights....

Not to mention the absence of Greg Bird who played a lot of pivot and took pressure off both Noddy and Buster.

The fact is that last year we had four play makers in Noddy, Buster, Bird and DeGois. This year we have only two in Buster and Barrett.

Both Buster and Barett are good solid players....but together they run a preticible game plan which is all to common.

We are missing the spark up front of DeGois and the passion of Bird as well as there creative play arounbd the ruck areas....

I reckon it is a good idea to swap Baz and Buster around because i reckon seymour feels the added pressure of guiding the team around. Although 6&7 are simmarlar playing roles the no.7 just adds a bit more pressure.
Barrett would steer the team around better as he has won origin series playing halfback.
And Seymour is much suited to 5/8 giving the backs the ball then running it himself his running game has gone from last year.

Need to sign the Broncos U20 halfback, Ben Hunt. He's something special.

Dont know if anyone keeps an eye on the Bundaberg Cup, but our feeder team Southern Districts has Eddie Paea former Souths halfback maybe if things become that bad this kid could get a go. Just a thought.

From Canberra but in London for 09
I dunno if swapping them will get any better results. I think maybe seymour is struggling a little with confidence. A knee reco is a hard thing to come back from but few wins would help everybody confidence. I do think both barrett and seymour on the field together is out best halves combination.

hard to tell this year because this is only like our second home game or something, first one apparently had about 1100 people but most of the w.a.r.l. clubs had teams playing that day and it was in a more central location.
last year we got between like 1000-1400 (with two 2000+), a long way ahead of any other clubs attendances in the bundy cup. tonight we have the first round of the W.A.R.L. comp
North Beach vs fremantle womens (oztag)
North Beach vs fremantle reserves
North Beach vs fremantle 1st grade
W.A. Reds vs Rebels
there should be around 1000 to watch this
