Shame we've butchered his development by not putting him in the 17 since he first looked good in a trial a few years back.
You have to do that with players who show something or they never get better or you lose them
Butchered his development? Seems to be going alright!

Development is over rated, once they turn 18 they should be thrown into the nrl, given 5 games and if they fail they become life long nsw cup players

Weird

Must be only Trindall who has needed to be playing NRL for the past few years and we will lose him to another club.

(I'm being facetious btw, even though I'm all for Trindall to get a run now the calls to promise him the 7 years ago were laughable, like promoting Tommy after a good trail years ago would have been, but he has kept working on his game and hopefully* has earnt a spot)

*think only Graham's service record might unfortunately keep Tommy out of a healthy squad

Give them 10 and then assess if there is someone you don't like you can blame instead. Most of our players have been marked never to play NRL again by someone at some stage so no idea why coach still has them out there. Has he even seen injured Kennedy playing

Thing is guys like the BigNut waiting in the wings just need to be given one or two chances, often these type guys aren't given a fair go, so i agree with Bort. It was seen as a "No brainer" from some of us early on, but hindsights a handy thing.. Also, on balance it was interesting to hear Bennet quoted recently that despite the Dolphins Dire injuries ( and yes i know Kerrs gone there early), "We wont be bringing in multiple players from outside, which may disrupt the harmony in the team" Applies in terms of Lodge i guess to us, as a trial for the rest of the yr.

Haha, I think this went over some heads. Unless I should be reading this literally. Im curious to see our recruitment goes in the next few years. Can see it being very similar to this year's. Buying good prospects and developing them and bringing them into first grade with the odd player to fill a noticeable gap. If we can do this constantly over a few generations of contacts it would make us an awesome place to come for young guns coming through. IMO anyway

Nah mate not literal at all, there are players at every club who are working hard on their game in systems and waiting for an opportunity longer than some over eager fan who thinks they know more than the coach would like them to

Sometimes some of those fans are probably right. Way more often probably wrong.
