RLW: 14/03/11

Wade Graham has no doubt his new club can improve on its last seasons 14th place finish.

''The sharks are definately a finals hope, I believe that'' says Graham who has impressed good judges in the shire.

"The club is building and it is exciting times. We have a great pack and my job will be to get the ball to the guys out wide and give them opportunities. I'm looking forward to it. Once I signed, the Panthers dropped me for a few week but I came back for the finals, which was good. I have been enjoying it but tore my hamstring two weeks ago. It was a blow as I've had a good pre-season before that."

Nsw Cup Preview
Cronulla Sharks:
2010 Finish: Finals week One

Sharks say: "I suppose we will be bit of an unknown quantity. The man managemant side of it is probably going to be the hardest for us. The melbourne players will train with us once a week and then they'll play the next day and go back home again. So the challenge will be bonding the group together and getting them all to work on the same page. But the message will be ''What you put in is what you'll get out of it'', and hopefully we can have a successful season" - Coach Tony Herman

RLW says: Cronulla will be a unique entity this year with the two NRL clubs - the Sharks and Storm - sending players to the one NSW Cup outfit. That is likely to throw up some tricky situations for coach Herman. But the addition of up to 10 storm players every week will also add significant strength and depth to the ranks.

Player to Watch: If he doesnt play first grade Ryan Tongia. He has been very impressive in pre-season. His speed is very good and he is always around the footy and with his agility he is always in the right place at the right time. Ryan played for PNG in the world cup with Paul Aiton and he sees a good opportunity to play outside backs here at Cronulla.

Key Gains: Kose Lelei(Dogs) Andrew Clayton(Broncos NYC), Ryan Tongia(titans)

Key Losses: Jamen Mcloed, Daniel Phillips, Alan Munro (all the Entrance) Herman Retzlaff(Norths), Lancen Joudo, Luke Harlen(Northern Pride), Mark lennon (Thirroul), Josh Lewis(France).

The relationship is simple guys. Both NRL teams have a pool of players that didn't make the NRL team that week. Those players are available for NSW Cup selection. It never works the other way around. No Storm players will play for Cronulla and no Cronulla players will play for the Storm.
