Before everyone goes necking themselves because we lost yesterday I will ask one question:

If after Round 4 the NRL said to Flannagan you can take 6th now or you see where you can finish, what do you think he would have said?

I believe he, like I would have and probably every other Sharks fan, would have jumped at the 6th spot and gone from there.
At the end of the day you only have to win ONE more game the the team who runs 1st.

I believe we can go well into the finals and I think we will beat the Bunnies by 13 plus.

We've jagged a lot of wins to get us to this point.

Hope we jag a few more and maybe even construct a win or two.

Different ball game now.

Whole different discussion there. I don't think anyone is disputing the fact that 6th spot is a remarkable achievement for this club after what we've been through, if they are they're kidding themselves. People are disappointed because they know we probably won't win the comp from outside the 4.

Irrelevant logic, because that would never happen. You could use any fanciful scenario to illustrate that strawman. What if, after round 23, the NRL said "hey let's give you the +2pts because we realise the refs let a News Ltd team get away with murder". It's pointless to think in those terms.

The reality was that we had a top four beckoning. Our opponents were under strength and only playing for pride. We had pride, respect, and 2 shots at the finals on the line, and we blew it. The refs made some diabolical calls but we played like ****ing dog ****. We kept giving Gallen hit ups, and letting him take it on the 4th or 5th when we should be spreading out to our backs. Gallen played for Gallen yesterday. The giant ****, in all his egomania, felt that it was on him to be the clutch player. Well gee thanks ****wit, your heroics cost us what should have been an easy win.

Then you had Bird niggling the manly players which gifted them a penalty less than 30m out, which they scored on. Most of the team just didn't turn up, and that's on them.

Instead of saying "well, shucks guys, we didn't get 4th but hey we got 6th so isn't that just dandy" you should, rather than gloss over things, feel anger that our side despite its deficiencies has had several games this season lost in the final minutes which we should have closed out. The team shows that for every 2 steps forward they occasionally take 3 steps back, which isn't good enough.

This isn't an attack against you, GC, but people need to take the blue, black, and white tinted goggles and fire up. ****s sake.

Found another positive, if we beat the Rabbitohs we might actually sneak up on the loser of the Broncos/Cowboys clash, publicly both clubs will talk us up, behind close doors I am sure they are shaking in their boots with out attacking arsenal we will bring to the table.
