Re Kennedy, Voss said during the telecast at some point during the first half that "Kennedy might not play representative football anytime soon or ever, but Cronulla wouldn't swap him for anyone."
It made me laugh real hard in light of this forum's recent discussion. :ROFLMAO:
Yeah I heard that too 😂

never been sold by hunt. to me, he is over rated.
our halves are doing well
Wild. He's been one of the better halfbacks over the last 10 years IMO.

Our halves are doing well, so are Will and Blayke. I just really hope we are feeling the same way through rounds 10-14.

Would be a dream
More like a nightmare. Ben Hunt is 34 years old and has played 319 NRL games. He's been a great player but he's probably on his last legs. Our Cronulla Sharks are an emerging team with talent. What is the fascination with dreaming about recruiting old grossly over-paid veterans who are set to hang up their old boots?

Whether the Sharks would want him or could afford him, Hunt has good years left. Was fantastic last game and is has more State of Origin MotM performances than anyone else in the league. No reason why he can't follow DCE's lead and keep playing 2-3 more years, especially since he doesn't have to be "starting halfback". Even if the legs start to go in 2 years he would be great halves / hooker / lock cover for any team in the comp.

Dumb, why get Hunt
The post 20 minutes before yours provides a decent answer.
You don't have to want Hunt for it to still be a decent answer.

I don't really "want" Hunt although would definitely take him if Dragons somehow fumbled him to us at a good rate.
As a childhood Sharks fan I'm sure we'd get his all.

He is an upgrade (shortish term, of course) on Trindall and has good versatility around how he uses his talents so I am sure he and Hynes could reach an understanding that is irrelevant to the number on their backs.

Currently signed until 2026 there are rumours Jahrome Hughes intends to go back to QLD. No evidence though he plans to try and force this earlier (no evidence he doesn't...)

Massive call, Burgo! He's got 1. :)
Thought you were talking current players, but then Munster and DCE have 2 and Tedesco 3.

I get your point, but unless I misread you, this is not the best argument to present. ;)

If Hunt were a couple years younger, and we didn’t have Trindall, I’d consider it. Hynes could definitely use a veterans help.

But I can’t agree with getting Hunt for 2 years and losing Trindall. Then starting all over.

Sharks are top of the comp, although it is early in the season and we haven’t played the teams expected to be competing for top 4 at the end of the year. There is absolutely no reason to be signing Hunt on his last legs.

Even if you were to look at putting it him at 9, Brailey is playing really well.

Let Hunt chase a bag somewhere else.

2021 game 3 is the only game they actually gave it to him? That is brutal.

2020 game 1 and 2022 game 3 he turned both games. Thought he had actually won those ones too. He was robbed!!!

Still both outstanding performances imo even though the boffins didn't give him the cookies :ROFLMAO:.

Yeah as I said I think it is perfectly reasonable to not want him, I'd only want him under very fortuitous circumstances (very low $).

I think for a competitive club Hunt wouldn't chase a bag. Probably would take one to get him to some of the strugglers.

Hunt for 2 years and lose Trindall I think would be fine if the plan for Dykes was 6 long term.

Yeah, for little money, I can see value I guess. And if like you’re saying Dykes is seen as the future 6, then perhaps Sharks see the value also.

Yeahhhhh the spoof man, it’s only Monday and you’re gracing us with your spoof already

Ben Hunt - the most winningest State of Origin MOTM performances than anyone else in the league
