I could see Flanno accepting a trade for Talagi and Greig. Eels agreeing to it highly doubtful.

Arguably improves both teams for mine.

Can't see a world where we have a chance of snagging him.
I can see the Eels swapping Matterson...

And there's no chance he doesn't already have a contract agreed to for at least 25 and 26. He's not walking away from $1.6m with nothing on the table.

Couldn’t agree more on Dale.

Not sure his value on the cap now.
But his off field value heavily outweighs his on field value.

Have not been an on field fan of his over the last few seasons.
But can definitely see what he brings to the rest of the team in a training perspective.
He’s in year 3? Wasn’t it like 750/850? The SMH says in 2025 he stands to earn just over 300k.

His contract next year is practically worthless to anyone except us (more so I wouldn’t want anyone getting him at that price except us) and I wouldn’t want to give him up this year.

Yeah we are in no position to be moving on Middles unless it's for one in return.

Agree this is the obvious "fair" trade, but now that the Dragons have given him permission to leave at the end of the year I doubt Parra (or anyone else) will be willing to trade a good player just to get him half a season earlier.

Do Parra have a player that the Storm want ?
Could end up a 3 way trade with Nelson to Dragqueens

Iro has a lot of hype around him by commentators outside the club.

Bit like Flanno Jnr used to get.

A lot, probably more than he'd have with a different surname, but not completely undeserved.
Some people act like he'd walk into half a dozen teams if we stopped holding him back but why have they never signed him? What's their offer to us to release him? Can't want him that bad can they.

Flanju sticking it out at Sharks and being eased into a lower pressure environment surrounded by long-time teammates would have been interesting. I think we see now his ceiling was probably never what some touted, but he may well have had a better past few years if he had stuck around.

He got Kyle

Yeah I think Flanno Jnr would be playing for us now if his old man didn't have a compulsive email disorder.

And we would not have Nicho.
If we still had Flanno we'd have another couple of premierships according to some.

Rushed signings like Moylan, Dugan and SJ* perhaps suggest not though

I'm honestly not sure where I stand on if we would have been better of had he/club not communicated while he was suspended.

*yes he never actually had him for a season

Unfortunately we'll never know what we could have been if Flanno stayed. Barba was also a casualty that shouldn't have happened and if Maloney had not been a whinging whining idiot, we could have given 2017 and 2018 a real shake.

Ennis retiring was huge. Personally I think we needed to rebuild after 2017, not make the ridiculous signings Flanno made.

Agree Barba shouldn't have happened but is not a Flanno move.

Then test end of 2020 we get this "Panthers star Brent Naden will reportedly spend the first month the 2021 season in reserve grade following last year’s positive drugs test."
vs end of 2016
"The former Dally M medal winner was released by Cronulla after testing positive for cocaine in the wake of the Sharks’ grand final victory last month and was handed a mandatory 12-match suspension by the NRL for contravening the league’s illicit substance policy."

Again. you don’t know what he’s been offered, whether he’s asked for a release and been rejected etc
