No ********s! Yes, I also want a top team, but if we are on the no ********s path, we stay on it and don't salivate and throw money at the first one that pops up.
I get ya. But the nature of RL requires you to be wired a bit different. Most people would call you a ******** for running into a defensive wall.

Your ******** might be my larrikin too.

Some greats - at least 1 immortal - were bits of ********s but phenomenal players. Most hate Cam Smith but he wouldn't fit the DH tag.

Nah I dont think thats true anymore. You dont need to be a ******** to be a champion Rugby League player.

I don’t believe for a second your talking specifically about Lodge here, but I would have grave concerns for someones mental state of mind if they view Matt Lodge’s actions as the acts of a larrakin.

Fitz would know better then all of us what it takes to be a success in this game and he seems to be pretty adamant on this no ********s policy, I say we back it.

100% we need to think beyond the next two years and think about the next 10. We want the sharks to be a place where they can encourage top talent and retain the best local juniors. We want people to want to be here and stay here. Not sign a guy nobody wants to play with. We want to be able to market the Sharks brand well, not be forever trying to rebuild our brand because our players are doing dumb things.

We are in general competitive at the moment and will likely make the 8. in Fitz we trust!

I'm talking specifically about Lodge. I'd be OK with signing him.
I think i'd be okay with signing him now... i'd be more certain about the opinion if we were having advanced talks about it.
Either way, at this stage I don't think we need to go there.

I would too but the only concern I have now is since he has came back to the nrl he’s played for three different clubs and 2 have released him. Just wondering if there are reasons behind that. Is it for off field reasons or is it simply for cap relief for those clubs.

The Warriors are still paying him 500k this year so I'd say salary cap reasons for Easts.

When do you think someone deserves a second chance? Not being a smart arse, genuine question.
Depends on the crime.

Do I think Matt Lodge should be denied an opportunity to work a normal job like the rest of us? No.

Do I think he should be on TV each weekend, in a culturally significant sport that wants to set a good example for Australians? Also no.

I believe everyone has the right to a second chance. Lords knows I have.

I don't think Lodge would bring the right culture to our team. And if the rumours are true that he can be disruptive in the locker room, we don't need that in our club.

I don't think I'd be able to cheer for Lodge, but I can understand how others are okay with it.
It’s a tough one. I can’t stand what he did. And don’t like the bloke. But do like what he brings on the field. And it’s what I feel our pack is packing.
