St.george has apparently one advantage, they have actually made an offer, whereas reports about us are ' expressions of interest .

To land the fish you need to bait the hook.

AFB is the great white we need to land.
Question is, have they made an offer Warriora would accept. Have to appease two parties

Do you need to make an actual offer?

He has a contract for 2024.

The NRL won’t let you pay more than the existing contract.

The NRL also will make you pay him “market value” - so you can’t pay him less than the current contract.

You talk to him and see if interested in joining

AFB would be so bloody good for us but I do worry about a big contract now to not get him until 25. If it was for next year all in but the longer it takes the more worried I am. He’s without a doubt a top line prop but I could see him dropping off quickly
I'm a bit the same. Definitely want him but I don't think 4 years from 2025 is ideal.

I wonder how much we're wishing we released Metcalf early for some good karma between the clubs. I know they aren't on the same level, but everything helps. Gotta nab him for 2025 first anyway.

Probably doesn't help.

If we're not getting him until 2025 then three years is enough for mine.
If it truly is down to two clubs, I think it gives us the flexibility to not over-offer. 3 years at a slightly higher rate or 4 years at no more than 4 mil total would be a great result. Can structure it to reduce like Dales in the last year or two. If he goes to the Dragons for bigger money then so be it.

Also interesting that both the Dogs and Tigs have pulled out given how hard they are going for Luai. I assume the loser might jump back in the pool once a decision is made.

Both teams have forwards and juniors coming through we dont have that so we are in a different position.

Bradbury, Tuks, Fearnley, Ataata, Fa'atili, Cocco.

That six at various levels of development off the top of my head?
Colquhoun?

Also Crouch

Cocco imo is closer to being a Jack Williams type than a normal prop. A bit smaller but very high energy.

McCullough goes alright too. Wears 13 but is a big unit.

Was trying to keep it to players yet to debut. Forgot about crouch.

Plently listed above so I don't need to reiterate. I think it's more a situation in which they want Luai, and are prepared to miss out on AFB if it allows them extra negotiating room. If they miss Luai, they can come back to the table to try get AFB and Dearden.

Junior props
Apart from hazelton there is no stock
If you just mean close to NRL ready props the top 30 currently has BHU (28), Rudolf (27), Hunt (28), Williams (27), Kaufusi (24), Hazelton (24), Colquhoun (22) and Finucane (32) (if needed) so volume is not a problem, nor is danger of them all aging out anytime soon.
Swapping any of them just to have someone younger risks a Kaufusi scenario.

Bulldogs middles 'coming through' are who? Patolo (22) and Hughes (22)?
Tigers middles coming through, Seyfarth (24), Pole (21), Matamua (20) and S Fainu (22)?
So Tigers do have quite a few young props in their top 30 - I'd swap none of the Bulldogs or Tigers guys mentioned there for Hazelton or Colquhoun though. Pole the closest.
