John Asiata looking to return to the nrl. 3 clubs interested. Been killing it over in super league from what I read. Maybe worth trying to get here.
A big lock that can actually ball play 👍🏾

The Leigh player that would be good is Edwin Ipape, Flanno was trying to get him, but doubt he'll ever leave coach Adrian Lam chops

I've always rated Asiata, but where would.you play him? He would add something we haven't had in our pack since peak Wado/Lewis. But he's also 31 next year.

It makes it such a catch 22 when all we seem to do is re-sign every player we have. A player like Asiata, probably needs to be in your starting 13 to have the most impact. Realistically do we think Finucane will be moved from 13? It's hard to see that happening.

You could argue McInnes is already wasted coming off the bench. I just don't think an Asiata/Finucane/McInnes combo works.

We need more impact from our 3/4 line and we need some big bodies who can impact from the bench and defend.

Good assessment. Think you're right on the money there.

@BurgoShark would have 18 #13‘s selected every week so I’m sure he would be able to accomodate Asiata together with Finucane, McInnes, Williams etc, etc, etc,

I think he’s worth signing but.
I do agree. I can't imagine he will cost a lot. My only question is what else has to change to accommodate it?

Our strategy seems to be, stick with what we have at all costs.

It would be different if it was Tino we were talking about.

What problem area do we see Asiata improving?
The number of premiership winning forwards in our side..

He's a great player, but you're right.. he doesn't really fit with what we need atm, you'd only sign him if you think he can add to what's already here. They're almost certainly not going to move anyone on to bring him in.

Could he simply just replace Wade from the bench? Maybe. There's definitely worse players available.

Guy can play. Only reason he left is because he refused to get vaccinated.

I was told by someone who knows him that he had multiple NRL offers before he left.

Bradman Best is set to test the open market.

If the Talakai experiment is over then we need a centre for next year.

Word is that Iro is on the outer and Tracey has been in and out of the side for the past 2 seasons playing all over.

Do we go to market for best? Personally I think we should but wouldn’t want us to spend anymore than 650k for him per season.

I'd like him, but I'm not sure we can spend that cash on a 3rd centre, given Jesse and Sifa are on similar.

I think we'll need to look internally unless some pieces move.

I'd like him for sure. Defence is a bit iffy but that's not unusual for a young centre.

Have there realistically been many options on the market that were obvious immediate improvements?

Too expensive for mine. He’s already on an over inflated contract at the Knights, which he’d want bumped up significantly to leave the Knights you’d imagine, just dont think he’d be value for money, especially since we have Ramien on a somewhat expensive deal. Your asking for trouble if you burn that much of your salary cap on your two centres.

He was real good in the Leigh Leopards vs St Helens Challenge Cup semi. Provided a real point of difference. Leigh won.
