Charlie Statines sounds like a goer.

They do this "stars" thing all the time. I think in the past we have agreed that by being an NRL player you are a star OF the league, but not necessarily a star IN the league.

i.e. Jess Colquhoun counts as an "NRL star" for journo purposes.

Likely doesn’t make our 17. But would be great depth and cover for any injuries in the forwards which were likely to have.
He would be ahead of Kaufusi which is a good thing also. Probably be our 18th/19th man so first or second cab off the rank.
Would play him over Rudolf in front row

Star is just a synonym for a player
Yep
Which looks better in a headline

No value in arguing with a Rugby League journos headline about whether 'star' describes every NRL player or not.

Sometimes people argue it about a dude they have probably watched on screen as much as, or more than, most hollywood celebs, just because the player isn't one of the very best in the league.
Given I have a Kayo subscription I've probably paid more to watch even someone like Billy Smith this year than any movie star.

Does OnlyFans not count as "movie stars"?

I imagine there isn't too much content on there that could be defined as a movie, but I could be wrong.

I think we may have just found a new business opportunity though... KayonlyFans
You pay monthly to watch sport, but per player.
Pick which NRL players meet your description of a star and watch a game where the camera just follows them in a close up.
Strap cameras to their foreheads and we can sell subscription to their POVs too

That’s not new
@djhabib has been doing that for years (but needs to find a new player now)

Rumour is warriors are keen on as player swap for him and 2 Sydney clubs are interested. My guess is raiders and dragons but hoping we’re one of them. With finucane constantly injured and us having no depth in the back row this guy would be perfect for us the more I think about it.

Assume you're talking Curran still.
Curran is a good get and would probably be in our side more weeks than not given injury - provides good cover for our shallow backrow.
Don't really see him coming to us unless he wanted to back himself to beat out Wilton or Toby (which is not impossible).

If they don't mind letting him walk because of the coin he is on vs role he is playing that probably puts us less in contention than some other clubs.
Not sure who we'd player swap for either.... Just give them Moylan and Kaufusi do we think?

Kaufusi would be the one I’d offer definitely. Pretty sure he’s born in Nz which could actually appeal to him maybe. Pretty sure we have 2 spots in our 30 but no idea how much $ we have available.

Am I remembering correctly in that Curran has had more than his fair share of HIA the past 24 months. Wouldn’t be taking the risk imo.

Also make them play shirts v skins, and the Panthers will get stripped of their last two Premierships because Soro is making so much outside the salary cap.

I'm a YES vote for Curran.

He can have Finucane's spot.

(I doubt Finucane has enough years left in his career to grow such an handsome permed mullet and change my mind).

Only if he gets rid of the headgear and plays with the mullet flying in the breeze.

Don't sack Dale though. Team them up Milli Vanilli style and Josh can be the next Hasselhoff.
