At $850K Hynes will be earning ~30% less than Mitch Moses on $1.25M.

Sign him up for $850K and you'll have his manager, his family and other teams telling him he's undervalued in no time. How happy is he going to be then? What are the chances he sees out that contract, or signs another with us after?

With the cap increase Hynes on $1M is already a bargain. Why get greedy and risk losing our MVP? That would be foolish.

I don't think he surrounds himself with the kinda people who talk that ****. I think he knows what makes him happy and its not all about leading the rich list.

He's said he wants to play his career out under Fitz whose signed up long term.

I could have it read all wrong but I think he's got more integrity than to agree to an extension only to get shitty about it shortly after.

I'm fine paying him $1m but if he's cool with $850k I'm not slipping another $150k in just because the Eels paid Moses X amount.
