NOBODY could accuse Brett Seymour of not being a team player.
Just weeks after being told he was unwanted by Cronulla and to play out his NRL contract in the local amateur competition, Seymour has jumped at the opportunity to lead the Sharks into battle against high flyers Manly at Toyota Park.
Coach Ricky Stuart, the man trying to force Seymour out of the club, approached the halfback this week desperately needing a playmaker as an injury and suspension crisis engulfed his club.
After being embarrassingly forced to play park football, Seymour had every right to rebuke Stuart, and a lesser man probably would have.
But Seymour, determined to resurrect his NRL career, took no convincing to answer his coach’s SOS.
“He just asked if I wanted to play and gave me the choice to say no or not but it never came into my mind that I wouldn’t play if the opportunity came,” said Seymour.
“I’ve played the last couple of weeks in premier league and we’ve had a couple of good results so I feel like I’m playing not too bad.”
