I'm a Slater fan as far as his footy ability is concerned but I think he's a sly dog on the field w/ sneaky cheap stuff but in relation to the "kick" I don't reckon he meant it.

I was watching NRL 360 tonight & they showed previous footage of him going up for bombs, some had defenders around him, others didn't & that is sort of his style, his foot at some point at going up for the bomb does extend out, it happened this time that Klemmer copped it flush.

I think they've been really good this year.

The only thing that is annoying me is the ruling with the quick tap and it's inconsistency.

If they can figure that out then I'm all smiles.

Happy with the ref's except billy slater call. I reckon he kicked that bloke deliberate. Not that I give a **** just saying. I didn't think Fafita scored btw.

That has nothing to do with the refs though. They put him on report so did their job.

So how many have a problem with the obstruction last night, I have no problems with it mainly because its an area that has been such a grey area for so long its now set in concrete.

It's one of those rules that can't be black and white imo, discretion needs to be used. The Cooper Cronk disallowed try against Canterbury is a perfect example.

If you use discretion we will just go back to last couple of years worth of BS calls and nothing will change.

Teams will need to adapt in attack and they will.

The defender made a decision to go for the runner. Should not have been a penalty, wrong call.
Teams are going to start to abuse this once they get wise.

I am quite aware of what took place Garbs.

I think they are already wise on it, that's why its taking place.

The problem is now as soon as a decoy makes contact with a defending player its obstruction thats fair enough if the defender is in the area of at least attempting a tackle. I have seen a few where they are no where near and it gets pulled up. I think common sense needs to come into play with this rule instead of as soon as there is a touch of a defender its a penalty. No matter what happens there will continue to be alot of inconsistency with this rule. Fifita I believe should of got a try because where was heighington suppose to go he didnt move from the play the ball. Markers not being square is an issue quicker play the ball is catching alot of the bigger guys out at marker and they aren't getting called for it. We should of got alot of penalties from that last week when we were rolling them up the middle they were no where near in line.

Agree with the first part but not about Fifita's disallowed try. It didn't matter if Hino had anywhere to go or not, the fact is a defender was disadvantaged so the correct call was made. We'd be screaming blue murder if another team scored a try against like that.

They now have an ex player in the box which should help. It's never going to be perfect but common sense needs to be used.

I know what your saying but he played the ball he can't disappear! The problems are a lot of defending players are finding the closest attacking player and taking a dive. Of course I would be filthy lol
