I reckon the question shouldnt be the worst team, it should be the worst coach!

Agree with Blix. How is it that last year when we had the worst injury crises in the clubs history & the worst off field controversies in the clubs history that they were still competetive? What's happened this year? Once again-agree with blix!

Phew!!! Full time at last! I was a bit concerned that Broncs would get to 50 or 60.At least the differential is the same as last week(40-12/44-16) so that didn't go backwards any further Yippee!!

We're not the worst team. Worst luck, probably. And our execution kills us. We have the potential, we just don't display until second half when IT'S TOO LATE.

I wouldn't say the worst team.
But I would say the most frustrating team to support.

Pathetic performance.
Worst coach.
hes a great bloke and kept the team together and united BUT
we are not performing under him, yet another pathetic performance and tactics.

Its obvious its not going to change under him otherwise it ould have long ago. Time for a new coach, NOW we need to build something. Money should not be considered an issue because before long the sharks will not be a club or a product worth spending money on.

Love the sharks with all my heart, as much as it hurts. But ring in the ****** changes in our coaching stocks

Stephen Kearney, get him in !!!!

I dont know how much it would cost but far out, its more important getting a good coach than another good player. Also if you get a coach that winning you will make the money back in ticket sales

Seriously the Cronulla team is underperforming massively under Ricky.

There arent to many other coaches that have a record that we have over the last two years that have survived this long.

I agree, he has been Bellamys assistant for some time now, he has learnt from the best, not to mention assistant to Bennett for the Kiwi's, thats the 2 best coaches in the game.

Bellamy origainally came form Brisbane where he was assistant to Bennett for a number of years, look at Bellemy now and what he can do.

sorry but i can't see a new coach giving this team any different. Over the past few years we havn't been a huge success either, have not won a premiership all the years we have been in the comp that is not Ricky's fault or is it...

i'm not saying Ricky is doing the best job in the world at the moment but can't see how another coach is going to fix this problem.

By sound recruitment and ability to actually coach?

Pretty close to the worst coach, back yourself and name who you think is worse than Stuart???

Off the top of my head: Stuart Raper. Michael Hagan. Paul Langmack.

Shouldn't this discussion be in the "Ricky Stuart" thread?

I agree A.Snowden. While I think Kearney is one of the better suggestions I've heard, I think it's got to come down to time and persistence. Otherwise we just become a rabble like Souths were in the 90s and 2000s. Again today we could have got absolutely hammered by a near-perfect Broncos team, but at least we held them below 50. It could have been a LOT worse.

If we make any changes I'd like to see him have another assistant coach. One name that springs to mind is Tawera Nikau.

Further to that.

Put it this way- if Ricky does leave, and I can see it happening, the next coach will be blessed with having a crop of youngsters in Fergo, Stapo, Kelly, Wright and the NYC boys that are the nucleus of a good team in the future.

On the downside for any potential coach, is the fact that the club is dirt poor.

On Kearney- he knocked back the Souths job, do you reckon he will want to come here? He's waiting for a plum job at Parra/Brisbane/Saints/Storm.

I've said it heaps of times, but if we change coach I want Michael Maguire. And, tbh, I've come round to the idea of Nathan Brown as well. (Shoot me now)

I'm worried that if we do go away from Stuart, in doing so we'll lose the two good things he has definitely brought to the club- our tough, competitive attitude and unity, and the talented youngsters. Sweet, another rebuilding period.

Another, for mine, is Brad Fittler. But can we afford anyone?

All those coaches at Souths were below par though. Their careers went nowhere after getting the flick from Souths. I think half their problem was the ability of the coaches that they had through that period. They'd sack one **** coach and then get another one.
