Plenty of good judges are predicting big things for newcomer Cruz Topai-Aveai. The young Sharks forward spoke to Sharks TV

I'm really keen to see how he and Uele go. Both seem to be good prospects. Its nice to have some potential size on our bench. Will be interesting to see what ends up happening with Capewell. I like the guy but don't think he will hold down a bench spot. this guy could be a potential Lewis replacement for a couple years time. I also think that Uele will end up partnering Fifita in a year or so.

Most promising sign about this guy is he seems to not mind doing the hard work.
In another article it says in one game for Souths u/20's he ran for 208m and made 26 tackles.
It's the 26 tackles part that I like. Could have a decent motor.

Pretty damn good. Good average meters and work load.
For comparison- Fifita averages about 16 hit ups per game while Campbell-Gillard , J. Bromwich and Jake Trbojevic average 12,13 and 14 respectively.

Can't compare U20s to NRL.

No **** Sherlock. Simply demonstrating that it would appear that the young fella has a bit of go!.. and considering his size it's not a bad effort.

Haven’t heard much of this kid since the season started. There was a bit of hype around him. What’s doing with him?

He has been playing prop in 20’s. Has started every game I believe. I haven’t seen anything specifically about him. The team is doing well.

Interesting to note that Cronulla sent 4 young players on the Kokoda Track visit earlier this year (strongly recommend watch the video). The players sent were Jayden Brailey, Ava Seumanafai, Kyle Flanagan and Cruz Topai-Aveai. Part of the purpose of committing the 6 days of tough trekking was to help build the leadership attributes of the individuals and to pay homage to the Anzacs of many years ago. These players weren't just selected randomly. Serious consideration probably went into selecting the next group of prospective leaders of the team. For Cruz to be considered with the others is significant. It was pretty obvious in the video that Brailey and Ava were deeply moved by the Kokoda experience.[h=2][/h]
