I reckon he could be a surprise packet for us. Flying under the radar so to speak.

Can't see Duges of Val shifting from the backline but he should keep Feki and Loots honest, and when he does get a turn I feel he'll bring a **** load of enthusiasm with him, and he's a bloody big boy. Could be dangerous

I wonder if he will eventually make the move into the backrow. He's got the size.

Would also be nice to uncover a cheap but effective option to take Lewy's spot, rather than have to recruit an expensive replacement.

would think our backrow would consist of Wade, Boogs/Capewell from 2019 onwards

can never properly replace a talented pro like Lewis unfortunately

I hope not. I am sure Wade will be there but I'd like to see a lot more consistency from the other two if they're to be in the starting team. Too many 'great' backrowers to go with two 'good' ones in the starting side. In saying that, I am suggesting a winger that's never played backrow...

gray will be on the right wing, and then eventually take leuteles spot at left centre

then we can promote katoa who will be an absolute beast

Boogs has played some of his best footy the last few seasons - give him a starting spot on the edges and near enough a full game instead of a bench role and I think he could find his consistency even if he loses a bit of impact from having to play more minutes. Capewell can be the depth/bench sub if need be.

A 'great' backrower would mean another signing and more $cash although arguably we would have it without Gal & lewy on the books. I would have loved to get Cartright a few years back when he burst onto the scene as a long term Lewis replacement but the bloke has turned to utter ****

i may be on my own, but i prefer boogs coming off the bench

more impact, great footwork on tired forwards

leave him where he is

Agree. Boogs has great impact off the bench and Crichton to slide into the starting backrow (fingers crossed).

I was looking over the off contract list for 2018 and unless I’ve missed somebody, it’s looking pretty threadbare in the lock department. Might be worth chucking Boogie in the 13 if Gal gives it away at the end of the year and have a red hot crack at somebody the following year. Surely they’ll be someone worth chasing then.

I’d rather Boogie off the bench as well, but again, unless I’ve missed someone really obvious, I can’t really see anyone worth chasing to slot into the 13 in the 2019 season.

On the other hand, I’m really hoping something big clicks with Scott Sorensen and he has a break out year and becomes a genuine option to succeed Gal. I’d love to see the Sorensen name a regular in our pack again. But a lot has to go right for him and he has to turn himself around big time for it to be even considered. Realistically he’s probably spending the year at Newtown. Wishful thinking on my part I suppose.

Now is the perfect time to pick up a few young options with the thought of them taking the reins after and learning off gal.

Someone like Nat butcher from the chooks would be good.
