with the exception of Seymore who got shafted by the pussy do gooders at our club.

I'm afraid that Buster has only himself to blame; we offered him a lifeline when he was sacked by the Broncos, gave him more than a few chances to get his career back on track, and now is being giving yet another shot at redemption by the Warriors. How many chances does the bloke want?

*AHEM* not all sharks fans, he was rubbish, always has been, still is and always will be, if he was so bloody good, why didnt we win the comp last year and why did we get belted by the storm

Dally M wins

Preston Campbell - 1
Brett Kimmorley - 0

fuggen anderson

You can't lay all the blame on Anderson for Campbell being let go. If you knew the full story of what went on behind the scenes you would know Preston only had himself to blame. Anderson had a zero tolerance policy towards players with bad attitude and too many times Campbell was found at Boyles hotel playing pokies when he should have been at training.

As much as I disagreed with the style of play Anderson coached, his attitude towards player welfare and behaviour was second to none. He had all the players either working part time or attending Loftus TAFE to give them skills for the future. This ensured they had less time on their hands to get drunk and get into trouble. Maybe if we still held onto that philosophy we wouldn't have the problems we had this year.

Kimmorely was, is acnd will continue to be a great asset to any team. Unfortunately for us, he didn't have enough support around him until the last couple of years, especially in a forward pack that could build a platform for him. Once we had Douglas, Bird, Gallen, DeGois and co hitting their straps last year, Kimmorley showed what he could do.

Kimmorley and Barrett - what a combination that could have been for us in '09...oh well, there's always next year. (Fu@k I'm sick of saying that);)

I hadnt heard that before.

He has turned it around now though, he doesn't drink at all these days. Apparently he is a teetotaler.

Noddy played poorly for 3 or 4 years prior to last year. He has played well this year as well.
That means he has played well last year 2008 and this year 2009 IMO.

Hate to say this but you are wrong.

You all seem to forget we made the 8 last year....
Well lets see if Steve Kneen in 2007 agrees with Steve Kneen of 2009 and then we'll see who might be wrong.

There were numerous bombed chances in the 1st half and Kimmorley bombed plenty. He also had chances to cement it with the field goal.
I am jack of watching Cronulla, year after year we always lose close games, it happened last year as well, we must have lost 5-6 games by 6 points or less, so many times the wrong option is taken. Kimmorley is a great player but so many times he puts kicks on when it should go through the hands. It's more than frustrating.
Golden point is a joke. The coaches didnt want it, it was only Gallop that said it would remain, you toil your guts out for 80minutes and lose on a referees decision.
Kimmorley is better than Orford, although Kimmorley still not kicking well. Ricky needs to show him some of his old tricks and where to kick, not straight down the fullbacks throat.
If Cronulla can execute like that in defence when we make the semis we will be a big chance, we just need to improve our attack and kicking.........
Dykes and Kimmorley dont know how to win us games and what is their fu**ing record together, it is absolute sh**. I've been watching Cronulla for many fu**ing years, and lately it has just become too much to watch them especially after the loss to the Roosters last week. I even put money on the cun**, so how dumb can I be. Same old Cronulla this year, fu**ing pathetic...............................
Kimmorley and Dykes don't even think about field goal. Those are fu**ing mental errors, and it is the same as always..........
What disappoints me a lot is that R Stuart was one of the best exponents of the field goal and had such a good kicking game, not to mention also Jim Dymock being a nifty kicker, why can't they impart some of this on Kimmorley, instead of kicking straight down blokes throats kick into space and think about field goals more often in tight games.......
Have a look at Kimmorley and Dykes record together they have won FA!!!!!!!It is just like last year, no creativity in attack.
Kimmorley will be going downhill over the next 2 years, we need a decent back up and Seymour performed as well as any 1st grade halfback I have seen this year....
Explain to me how a player like Noddy In your opinion is one of the best halfback in the game after what you've said about him.
and dont go blaming Dykes or anyone else for noddy's poor decisions and bad kicks.

Conclusion = Steve Kneen of 2007 agrees with Bungy and not Steve Kneen of 2009. :nodlaugh

I am not a Noddy hater either and he has been good at times in his career but not consistently.

2001:
Preston Campbell cements himself into the position of halfback and wins the Dally M, Player of the Year award by edging out Andrew Johns by 1 point.

2002:
Anderson comes to the Sharks and brings along former Test halfback Brett Kimmorley to play halfback for the Sharks. Campbell is thrown in to the unfamiliar position of Hooker and is useless and doesn't seem to have much interest in playing at all ... he gets dropped to Reserve Grade and then seeks release from the Club so that he can go on to pursue a team who'll put him in his desired position of halfback.

On the other hand...
Jonathan Docking, who spent all of his junior footy playing at halfback and considers that to be his greatest strength, gets told almost ten years earlier from Jack Gibson... "You can eaither play fullback in Firsts, or halfback in Reserves". Docking answered "Firsts will do me fine"

Different eras... different players... different coaching styles... different outcomes.

I've often wondered whether Pixie did the right thing by his career by saying that.

Perhaps another Club may have recruited him to play halfback in First Grade and who knows where that might have gone.

I can't imagine Pixie would have even considered going to another Club though.

That's footy.

Mate don't stop there. Remember what happened after that?
