Just like the people who trumpeted signings like Nigel Vagana, Anthony Tupou, Ben Ross (the first time), Josh Hannay, Tim Smith, Sam Tagatese and loads loads loads more that careers died at Cronulla..

Players go to ****. Wish they didn't but it happens. We have a better option at Fullback now, not just better but a potential superstar.

Get the **** over it.

All disappointing imports with high expectations? When I started reading that, I thought you might be angling towards the opposite argument...

Gards played a few **** games almost one year ago and he's being written off for life. How about calming your farm and see where he's actually at now rather than judging him on something that happened nearly a year ago.

I like the fact there's a debate but there really is no need for one.

1#Michael Gordon

If he gets injured at any point in 2013, or on the off chance he gets chosen for State Of Origin, then and only then will you see Gardner play.

I have other mates who support other teams & not the Sharks but most of them rate Gardner, its got to the stage where its almost popular on this forum to bag him out, if he ends up leaving the sharks & goes on to another team & kicks arse at the other club that he goes to I can only imagine the back lash from the same forum members that will end up bitching that the sharks have let another good player go.

I don't think I've ever bitched about Gardners talent, it's just the FACT we have a far better option now. That's it.

Gards is definitely exciting when he gets going, but his defence at the back ain't the best, probably because of his small frame. Also is pretty worrying under the high ball. I wonder if anyone has thought of training him in the hooker role. I reckon he would make a pretty exciting and dangerous dummy half runner coming from the bench.

I am talking about his one on one defence being isolated at the back. Playing closer to the ruck with 1 or 2 other guys in the tackle is totally different to being last man in the line of defence. Hookers are mainly noted in the modern game to provide a rolling momentum in attack.

And how good will he go in providing rolling momentum when he's making 20+ tackles a game....

If we was going to get a go at 9 (which I don't think he will) he would be more suited to the role of coming on 10 mins before half time & a 10 min spell in the second half.

Yeah I agree Bundy. My initial post stated that he could come from the bench. Craig Wing was a classic example of successfully moving from the backline to the hooker role from the bench. We all have different opinions about this, but I guess I just don't want to lose the guy altogether. In my opinion his small size and nimbleness(real word?) might work for him in this role.
