So all you have to do is ask for rep?

Does Dykes work with the club?

Always been one of my favourite players has Dyksey, good to see he still does something for the sharks, even if it didn't pay off this time.

I don't think I will be able to watch a titan's game next year. Do not want to see dougie in another team's colours.

Doesn't tend to work Dier.

I'm going to struggle to watch them next season too. Already did between Presto, Rogers and Bird, but with Douglas there next season it will be way too hard.

:good: Always liked Dykes as well. Everyone use to bag him in his later part of his career but i always blamed Noddy for our lack of attack. \

Presto/Douglas/Bird all in the same team 2g4..... sucks ass doesn't it. (just imagin if Rogers was still around ffs)

I know i might go on about Luke Covell, Albert kelly, Greg Bird back in the day. but ill be honest for once. This guy is probably one of my fav sharks players. I have so much respect for him its not funny. Gives his heart and soul for the sharks. Round 26 will be a sad sad day for sharkies fans. I hope the club does something for him on his last day with the club

RESPECT :good:

Dykes is another of my favourite players. But Dougie has been my No. 1 since he debuted. I just love how he gets about his business- all quality, 100% effort, working hard and sticking up for his mates and never a whinge out of him.

And I really do doubt that we've fully comprehended how much we will miss him next year. Flano may not quite know either. Sometimes its not the best players that are the most important, its the ones that do all the other stuff, who set the tone of the Club, who make the jokes at training, who take the young blokes under their wing... Anyone who's been part of a large sporting club knows that guy. They're hard to replace.

Wooloo-where??
The one that got away.

I asked him at the fan day earlier this year if he was going to re-sign with the club. He just looked at me a bit bewildered, shrugged his shoulders and said "That's if they want me". Reading the article and his situation, I still think if the club had of moved a bit quicker, we could have easily extended him.

Anyway, the decision is made. he has done the club and himself proud and I wish him the very best at the titans

Reminds me of David Hatch. No BS just a hard honest worker, a leader, a true club man and like many of you have said, my favorite player other than Gal. We will miss this guy ( and his family) next year. Irreplaceable!

Offer him the Captaincy and a good contract as soon as we can. He would have been one of the great Sharks if we could have kept him.

I was at the club on Saturday and was looking at the immortals painting. I think if we can get Douggie back his face would be in that painting. Having said that Mcgaw, Peachy & Rodgers are there and they all finshed their time at different clubs.

So your not confident the Sharks will be playing past round 26 into the finals?:D

If not then yes will be sad, hope round 26 is played at Shark Park and the club and fans should definatly send him off right and also get a win like we did for Baz and Cov last year.

"He feels most regretful about the effort former team-mate Adam Dykes made to retain him. Dykes swung him back the Sharks’ way, but then he spoke to his parents. Luke doesn’t want Sharks fans blaming them, though. "

Dykes and Dougie played together at some point? Seems to have slipped my memory that.

Deep blue sea.
Don't get me wrong, I think he has served us well, but he is hardly a match winner that will cause our team to collapse! I cannot comment on his off field influence but im not sure he is the source of all fun things with his mum hanging around. Poor fella, I would be keen to get my mum away from the boys night outs as well.

Players come and go, it's time to move on. The money we saved on him and snow have got us more depth and I personally don't think there loss will mean we are weaker as a group.
