4k refers to the amount of pixels in the horizontal resolution.

4x the resolution (picture quality) of Ultra HD. Basically yes, looks better/cleaner.
Worth noting that if your WiFi isn't great you may be better off avoiding streaming in 4K, as it would mean more buffering.

Yeah so the amount of pixels directly translate to the definition of your picture. More pixels you have, better the quality essentially.

A pixel is a dot Chad.
4K Tv has about 4000 dots which comprise the image left to right and about 2000 dots top to bottom. More dots = more definition.
Standard HD is about 2000 x 1000, so a 4K Tv has twice as many dots packed into the same amount of real estate.

Thanks mate. Frankly, what I get on Kayo right now with normal definition seems fine to me. Can't see how they can get it any clearer actually.

It's worth noting that lower resolutions look worse the bigger the screen gets as the pixels essentially get stretched.
The smaller the screen the less it matters. i.e. 4k on your tablet screen (if it even supported it) is unnecessary and would be of little benefit where's good ol 1080p Full HD will still look really nice on a small screen or reasonably modest sized TV (say 40 inch)
Having a large 4k capable screen but not having fast enough internet or access to 4k content is somewhat counter-productive. But I thought pretty much all large sized TV's would support 4k as standard by now or you gotta pay a premium for that?
Addressing the drawback is upscaling technology (using AI these days) which takes a lower definition or lower resolution image / video and makes it 'fit' and look presentable on a higher resolution display like your 4k TV for content that isn't in native 4k. This is likely why what Chad is watching still looks good.
