Team Song

Fellas ,

After watching the boys sing the team song a number of times after we win , it always seems like there is 3 , 4 or even 5 boys not interested in signing the Up Up Cronulla tune . While i think the song should stay as we are well known for it now - I think the song to be sung after the game within the boys isn't rowdy-hoo ha enough in the sheds .

It's good for us fans and we will keep it for us to sing forever , but after the game for the boys in the sheds it all seems very nursery rhyme-ish . There is always a few boys shying away from it have a look for yourselves . I think a good team song would do wonders for the vibe within the group to get in the sheds and unleash a rowdy catchy chant whatever you want to call it . I've been in a team all my life and the ones where we have had a good team song it always always brings a good vibe to the group like no other .

I've had a look at all the other NRL teams songs and they all make ours look silly . What do you think ?

I'm guessing ours is one of the oldest songs. Plenty of slowish team songs in the AFL and they work a treat. I'm one for tradition, it should never, ever be changed/replaced. And only one song for fans and players.

I know , just because it is tradition doesn't mean it can't be better . Just saying that whenever i look at our songs after the game the boys are always abit uninterested . Where as imagine going into the sheds and singing a song that completely pumps each other up , There can always be a song just for the players I think Up Up should always be with us but in saying that after the sheds within the boys and group it's a whole different atmosphere- I mean you can even sing Up Up Cronulla while sitting down reading the newspaper ..that says it all .

Look at all the team songs for us after the game and hopefully you can see what i mean - all the other teams seem to know what it's about , after a game you would want to go in there and cant wait to sing the song with the boys it doesnt look like that for our boys

Yes but like I said, plenty of AFL cub songs are exactly the same and the players always belt it out after a win.

Legit. Holmes and Lewis admitted it to the interviewer. I agree with the general idea of the thread. The dragons have a pretty damn good song and they get into it. The most aggressive you will see Creagh EVER!!

I'd like to see Flanno bring in some barber shop singers to coach the boys.

They need to develop some decent harmonies, some side-shuffle moves and work together as a team FFS.
