A player with immense skill, if Adam Dykes was to be underestimated by opposition defences it would certainly be to their detriment.

5/8 was the hardest position for me personally.

Maloney, Dykes & Healey all had a case but I couldn't go past our premiership winning 5/8.

Yep in my lifetime its basically players from the 90s on. Healey was always my favourite player. His kicking game was ridiculous. But yeah maloney entered the team had a slightly slow start but after a few weeka he was just brilliant.

Dykes for me. .. I think that he gets unfairly remembered for his 2005-2007 lack of chemistry with Noddy rather than the outstanding player he was in his first stint. No way I could say 100% that 2016 Maloney is a better player than 2001 Dykes; the game is very different 15 years on.

In my opinion Dykes was the best player in the comp in 2001 even though Preston Campbell pipped him late for the Dally M. The team won 11 of their last 12 games with him in the team leading up to the Prelim Final. He dominated the comp. I'm convinced we would have won it if he didn't get injured.

He was very good but I basically forgot about him to an extent. Probably didn't really reach his full potential or something.

Granted in 2001 was his best season & he did play well for us but I never rated him for any other season on a consistent game by game basis, I was actually cheering when Parra signed him & from memory he didn't set the world on fore there either.

For a half, he ran too sideways for me had a bad case of super glue hands when he needed to let the ball go.

He was brilliant Dykesy but he used to frustrate me sometimes i.e when we had a 3 person overlap and he would still chip to the winger. Same thing achieved when it worked and very spectacular but a lower percentage play than putting it through the hands.

Nevertheless, the above scenario was very entertaining to watch and it was a shame to see him running around in Parra colours.

Dykes was an absolute gun on his day (and he had quite a number of those days) but could also do some really frustrating stuff or have the odd brain fart or clumsy play but I was a fan for sure, bloke was a match winner and played some fantastic footy for us. He had his cold runs of form like the majority of players ofcourse. I think he struggled to adapt with a changing Sharks team.

Maloney suits the modern game well and has that extra bit of toughness & grit along with coolness of mind to win the big games. Highly talented but not exuberant in his play style. Swap either play around to their respective era's and maybe they don't look quite the same players but that's irrelevant, both have made significant contributions to our club

Healey is a player I have alot of respect for - always put in and could be relied upon to do his job well week in week out.

It was a decent era of halves. If he came through now he probably would have played an Origin. Being a half-competent New South Welshman. Same with Healey.

Ha! you forget the form the NSW selection panel has...

At least they finally saw the light with Maloney

Loved Dyksey and Healey, but my vote goes to Jimmy any day of the week. We aren't premiers without him. He won some close games for us pretty much on his own.

Dykes was a sub par player who had 1 good year

No way! I think it might have been fair to say that other than the odd highlight he was an average player from 2002 on, but in his first stint he was a very good player. Maybe he was a product of playing with other good players and Lang's coaching style - but he good years success in 1997 (hooker), 1999 and 2001 and OK seasons in 1998 and 2000. Like I said - I think we look at 2007 model turnstyle-defending, kick-happy, sideways-running Dykes and remember him like that.

I also have a hard time voting for a guy in the "team of 50 years" who has only played one season.
