Summer Soccer in the Shire

Is anyone else playing Summer Soccer in the shire besides Snowman and me?

I play for a team called Dads and Lads in the Men's comp at Southern Districts Rugby Oval. Lost our first game 2-1 last week and lost again 2-1 tonight. We've got a mixture of old heads with younguns so it's a good balance. Tonight though the whole team we played against were all 21 year olds. Just ran out of puff a bit, but good fun!

lost 1 games by 2, won 26-6, 20-2, 23-6 and lost last night 14-10

Wow big scores!

We won our semi 3-2 but lost the final 2-0 against Billy Harrigan's team.

the game before, the final. Billy's team got beaten by Seagulls 2-0 in the Grand Final.

We lost again last night 1-0 against a team that lost their first two games 3-0 and 3-1. Just couldn't get anything right last night, passes didn't stick, we missed easy chances, missed tackles, not our best effort at all.

What's worse than a bunch of 50 year old blokes beating you at soccer? Well, not much else really.

That's how a bunch of 20 and 30 year olds felt last night when we beat them 2-1 at Summer Soccer, AFTER playing a full catch up game beforehand that we drew 1-1.

Special mention to one of our young blokes, who was beaten, kicked, hacked, trod upon, pushed over and fouled nearly every time he got the ball.

This means that after an inauspicious start to the season we are now unbeaten in the last six weeks (including a bye) and now sit 5th on the table.

how'd you go on the weekend chad? we had a 2 all draw

I play soccer in the FFNC comp, ranges from the Lismore zone right down south to the QLD border, played my first game on the weekend drew 2-2. I just play generally in the 7th division, its not too serious in the 7th division.

For the first game of the year we played quite well. Went to sleep a bit in the second half but managed to hang on. Good start to the season.

2-2 is not too bad first up for your guys. Could you have won it?

How many soccer leagues are there in the Sydney area & how many divisions are there? Are there any competitive but social lower leagues in the Sydney area if you know what I mean by that?

We should have won, all over them the entire game but they had one chance and scored and got a worldy of a free kick

there are heaps mate

Sutherland is the biggest comp and has 17 divisions

So should we but it won't be easy. We've lost probably two of our best players.
