Sharks coach Ricky Stuart was surprisingly upbeat after watching his side surrender a 10 point lead in the final 19 minutes, before going down to Penrith in a golden point thriller at Toyota Stadium.
Stuart bristled at a line of questioning in the post-match media conference suggesting his side's form had tapered off after a strong start to the year.
"How do you say that? We got beaten in one game of football," countered Stuart.
"I'm not too disappointed with that. I saw some good football played out there tonight, we just didn't score points in important parts of the game," said the current Kangaroos mentor.
Stuart was adamant his side’s attack had shown vast improvement from early in the season, despite coming out on the wrong end of the score-line.
"Some of the ball movement we had tonight was very good, some of the stuff we've been practicing and working hard at has been getting onto the field."
The Sharks coach also paid tribute to the quality of the opposition, indicating he was sure the Panthers wouldn't be among this season's also-rans.
"I don't think Penrith will be around the bottom of the table, I think they're an outstanding football team."
I'm not too disappointed with that...
