STUART TO NAME SHARKS TRIAL TEAM
SharkBites

While most of the Sharks big guns are expected to make the trip to the western NSW town of Parkes for the teams first trial match against the Eels, a number of the new recruits and exciting newcomers are set to be named and given the chance to stake their claims for a top grade berth.

The likes of Dustin Cooper, Fraser Anderson, Matt Raftery and Dane Nielsen have impressed the coaching staff during the pre-season and are likely to be included in the squad for the opening trial.

Only a handful of players are out of contention due to injury, with David Simmons still on the road to recovery following off-season shoulder surgery and Josh Hannay possibly not quite ready for the Eels trial after undergoing a minor groin operation just prior to Christmas.

The Sharks trials will be in Parkes on February 17, against Souths in Gosford on February 24 and in Cessnock against the Newcastle Knights on March 3.

Be interesting to see how the new recruits and younger players go, but sounds good for competition in the back positions as well as the forwards.

Hannay is unlikely to be impressed having is groin described as "minor".

No definately not, they do it on purpose to get people to the games etc.

Shame though, would be good viewing, plus it would cost the stations too much money to send a crew out to film it all.

I am busting to see the side he picks actually.

Yay Raftery.

Also does this mean both Hannay and Pommery both have groin issues, or did we get our wires crossed somewhere?
