Interesting, thanks Matty. Not sure where funding would come from to upgrade to a 25,000 stadium though.

Gorman knows how to answer questions - never rule anything out, but at the same time assure fans that nothing is planned to change

We'll have money from the development, plus, isn't there that other application for the hotel still?

I reckon that the eastern stand should be improved when they do the commercial part. Extended along at least one, maybe both sides.

I would only extend if we were able to host finals, no point adding 5000 seats if we only use them once a year when we play saints.

I still don't understand who would fund it? Us?

No chance of ever hosting a final there again imo.

If we were serious about trying to secure a summer tenant, I think upgrading the stadium would be essential. A rectangular equivalent to Spotless Stadium would be fantastic. And we need to make allowances for it while the Leagues club development is being designed.
Depending on how much they want to demolish, my wishlist would be:
Extend the ET and Peter Burns stands to the try lines.
More shelter to the Peter Burns Stand.
Rebuild the ET stand to include a concourse and members bar.
Of course, it all depends on finances and how much land footprint is available.

Who could the summer tennant be though? The only legitimate tennant that I can think of would be an A League club. With the Phoenix being given a 10 year extension on their licence I can't see a third Sydney team being introduced anytime soon.

Has to happen. Membership growth can't go on forever without more decent seats to sell. Especially when hardly any are undercover. Not to mention the other facilities - toilets, bars, food, corporate/individual packages etc.

You can't get too far behind the competition. Both for players and for fans.

Maybe with help from government, looks like a lot of clubs are pissed that all the funding was going to go to just one or two stadiums maybe they were not even consulted?
Just reading between those wide lines from LG :)

I reckon the Southern Sydney A-League club is still well on the table. Gallop wants it. May come at the expense of the CC, might just be expansion along with another Brisbane side.

Which is why we've got to get a plan together and get our hat in the ring a long time before we desperately need it. It takes ages to get these things up. Lots of schmoozing to be done.

3. They only get 10 years if certain targets are met

indeed, why would they do this? what is in it for them...?

Rather than be a smartarse you could just answer the question. I still don't see what the developer gets out of pouring money into improving the ground. It's not like developing apartments which they sell.
