Technically he had a massive chance to grab it but he didn't get his chance on the field. Soward did, was solid but carney is the top NSW 5/8 (I was saying that before he signed here) and he will most probably be picked even though he hasn't completely hit his straps because he is the man most likely to help drag NSW out of the slump followed closely by campese.
