Personally, I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Sifa’s form slumped after we got injuries to both Teig and Kennedy.

They gave Sifa early ball during our backline movements which allowed him to use his strength and silky hands set up Ronnie.

On the contrast, Sifa gets very late ball from both Wade and Tracey as they like to really skirt the defensive line before passing. I’ve noticed that they both tend to do this little sidestep just before they pass which makes Sifa pull up on his run so he can stay behind. This results in Talakai needing to catch a pressure pass while he has no real momentum.
Really generous.
S ifa is a poor defender with zero lateral ability.
He can't hold the ball in contact.
He can't make a break unless he plays against Morgan Harper.
There is zero reason to keep him in the team either as a centre or a back rower.

Who would you play at centre?

Did he steal your parking spot? He's not perfect but he's a shitload better than you're giving him credit for.

I think this has always been the case, even when people were raving about him last year.

Even at Newtown he really struggled defensively when he played in the centres.

It's just my opinion. I wouldn't pick him for Newtown.
As a second rower on the right side at that level he was very good.

He can't hold the ball in contact.
Has definitely had issues this season with errors from yardage runs. You can't blame the dropped passes on him though. Trindall has given him two shockers.

He can't make a break unless he plays against Morgan Harper.

I can see a few reasons to keep him in the team until the end of this season.
1) His work on yardage carries is generally very good (when he holds the ball)
2) His ability to position his winger is above average, and possibly top 5 in the NRL
3) His errors in shifts in the last two weeks have clearly been a result of playing with a new half. The timing has been off.
4) Currently there isn't a replacement available we could reasonably expect to be better defensively that Sifa
* When Tracey has played left centre he has been as bad or worse defensively
* Hiroti has been great for the Jets in general, but has been pretty ordinary defending at left centre
* Iro is not good defensively at NSW Cup level (and hasn't been at any level)

For 2024, I can definitely see the Sharks bringing in a new left centre and moving Sifa to move back to the bench and becoming the "low minute" guy. He has definitely shown in the past that as a low minute middle he can have an impact, and his versatility would make him a handy option as the fourth forward.

He has had trindall and wade supporting his defence so it’s been heaps better but his efforts are a bigger concern. On the weekend his second half was way better than his first half

His defence will need to be heaps better again next Saturday night against Manu & he can also expect a few Kleary bombs with a height disadvantage

I just reread it and it doesn’t read right. Apologies. No his efforts during the game. Look at his first half verse his second half. For some reason he doesn’t have a crack and then he does.

Roosters have beaten no one. Tigers, bunnies, manly, doggies, eels. All at their worst. And they flogged south’s and were crap. If we hold the ball we win. No mistakes. We really should be looking past the roosters, these guys are done for.

I like the confidence; I like the plan there
Finals footy can see some ordinary sides lift and do something special (just hoping it's us! :p)
