Shoutbox Temporarily Disabled

Hi all, sorry I've disable the chat/shoutbox at the top of the main forum to test how much bandwidth it's using. If it makes little difference I will restore it soon.

Thanks... the bandwidth used has exploded the last couple of months, so will be trying some changes!

Sorry, I've had to disable the shoutbox again until I update it to a new version. I found the current version had security holes, and there were no moderation options (e.g. to remove racist jokes).

Has hitting the chat now icon on the sharksforever main page always taken us directly to the General Sharks and NRL Discussion forum? Because I swear that it used to only take us to the forum index!

It used to take you to a realtime shoutbox but because of some abusers of it we had to can it.

But for the record i'd prefer it if it linked to the forum index, but its not a major issue.

We had to kill the extended edit function because some Members were going back and editing previous posts and consequently some threads started to make no sense at all... well, in a comparative sense of "no sense" at least.

I believe that this sort of thing is usually self-moderating and I really don't want to see things get to the stage where we have to over-police this space.

if you want to chat go to the casino and click on "texas hold em".the game has it's own chatroom function.
you don't even have to play the game to use it.
thankfully the content is never saved either so the rest of us have no idea what sort of crap is being said in there!
