“It was a blessing in disguise I went to Cronulla, I learnt, I had three good years there where I was under some different mentors, rubbed shoulders with players that played for Australia, Origin and had won comps.
“I feel like over there was where I changed how I played the game.
“I was happy to stay. I was gutted (when Fitzgibbon called).
“And this is the crazy thing. I remember I was like ‘What? You guys aren’t going to re-sign me?’
“Cronulla was a really cool place and a really cool group but it happened and things happen for a reason and I’m glad it played out the way it did because then I don’t get to experience what I’m living right now.
“Nicho killed it that first year (2022), won the Dally M so they (Sharks) won that.
