This week the sharkies nyc boys take on the warriors. The sharks have slipped down to last after last week smashing at the hands of the eels, but a positive to this is the fact that the warriors much like their nrl side have not won a game away from home this season so lets make sure if you are at the game your making plenty of noise for the boys and really get behind them.

So is this what it is?

NYC = Toyota Cup = under 21's

NSWCup = Reserve grade = Fat bastards too crap for the main side

Breakthrough Away Win For Vodafone Junior Warriors

The Vodafone Junior Warriors moved into the NYC's top eight with their first away win of the season today. With their previous four wins - and a draw against Wests Tigers last week - all at Mount Smart Stadium, the Vodafone Junior Warriors accounted for the Cronulla Sharks 32-22 at Toyota Stadium, their first away win in six attempts. They led 16-6 at halftime via four unconverted tries, one of them going to right winger Bill Tupou who maintained his impressive strike rate. It was his ninth try in 11 matches this year and his 23rd in 30 NYC career matches. A Michael Afioga try immediately after halftime extended the Vodafone Junior Warriors' lead to what seemed to be a comfortable 22-6 margin only for the Sharks to react with two tries to trail just 18-22 with 25 minutes still to play. But tries to Rusty Bristow and Ben Henry made the result safe, lifting the Vodafone Junior Warriors to 13 points and eighth spot on the ladder for now. Match details:

At Toyota Stadium, Cronulla Vodafone Junior Warriors 32 (Sebastine Ikahihifo, Siuatonga Likiliki, Bill Tupou, Shaun Johnson, Michael Afioga, Rusty Bristow, Ben Henry tries; Shaun Johnson 2 conversions). Cronulla Sharks 22 (Mikos Tepania, Daniel Perkins, Andrew Madden, Lancen Joudo tries; Chad Townsend 3 conversions). Halftime: 16-6 Vodafone Junior Warriors. Referee: Chris James.

In the Toyota Cup, despite a much improved performance from the young Sharks, a second half fight back fell just short as they went down by 32-22 to the New Zealand Warriors.

The Sharks trailed 16-6, then 22-6 in the early stages of the second half, before getting within striking distance at 22-18 only to concede two more four pointers to the Kiwi side.

sharks vs warriors toyota cup match report

The young sharks were again defeated this time at the hands of the warriors.
The stats looked promising with the young warriors yet to win in australia.
The game started poorly for the sharks with errors and once again a poor kicking game leading to bad field position with the warriors scoring first off what appeared to be a knock on.
Thank the good lord their kicker couldnt kick, he kicked 2 from 7 to keep the sharks interested.
The sharks tries :
First to Micos Tapania off a cross field kick from Mcgrady knocked back by orcher Tapania picks it up makes it to the corner.
The 2nd try to Daniel Perkins a big dive off a nice grubber from half chad townsend.
The 3rd to andrew madden sheer determination to power over the line.
The 4th to Lancen Juoudo well deserved try
Warriors 32
Tries; Liki Liki 2, Bristow, Tupou, Johnson, Afioga, Henry
Goals; Johnson 2 from 7
DEFEATED
Sharks 22
Tries; Juodo, Madden, Tipania, Perkins,
Goals; Townsend 3 from 4

These guys have so much potential but dont seem to work well as a defensive unit,
the kicking game for the last 3 weeks has been pathetic and nothing short of disgraceful
the move of orcher on the wing is shocking he is an attacking weapon and to have him on the wing is a shocking move. i sat there very frustrated as they had a half decent crowd by the 2nd half of the game the warriors tries were pretty much all soft just missed one on one tackles. If anyone can get down to canberra next week and get right behind and make sure u yell encouragement they need all they can get at the moment.

The wait is over

Tony Iro's flight back to New Zealand on Sunday was his best this season. How do I know? Because he packed two points in his baggage for the first time this year.

Yes after five losses on Australian soil so far in '09, the Warriors finally broke their Australian duck at Cronulla on Sunday.

The Sharks threatened to deny the visitors again when they closed to within four in the second half but this time the New Zealanders won 32-22.

Shaun Johnson's kicking game at halfback was outstanding and the work of his centres Siatonga Likiliki and Rusty Bristow was also good.

The Warriors finished third last year. They sit eighth this season. Will the weekend's win be a springboard towards even more success in Australia?
