It's well worth noting that Gardner started carving them up when Newcastle took off their NRL squad and put their NSW Cup squad on. This suggests that Gardner will be a superstar in NSW Cup this season.

I'm pretty sure Gordon wasn't on the field when we scored the last 3 tries, that's why Chad was kicking the conversions

Thanks for the updates,

This will lift the guys, knowing that a game can still be won 10min out from full time, instead of putting their heads down.

But also shows how a game can be lost with 10 min to go.

Either way it's a great confidence booster for the boys and Flanno and his coaching staff,

Well done, now bring on round one.

article I was reading must have got it wrong, think it was actually one each to mills, gardner, de gois, jono wright
Yeah at the ground they announced Wright scored one of the tries but I was sure it was Gardner and Sharks website article agrees. Glad they confirmed or I really would have been questioning my eyesight.

General review... We were pretty underwhelming most of the game. Townsend's bombs were ok and Gordon was trying hard to find a gap, but really we did not look threatening at all. It didnt help when Gallen came on as he was clearly not very pumped up for a trial and wasn't the best.

Second half we obviously looked better. Tupou and Bakuya got ball more on right edge with Gal off after half time. I don't know exactly when Knights subbed off their players but they had low numbers (1-20) on most of the night and were not just slacking off at end - all our tries were good.

When Gallen came back on he was a different player and Gardner was excellent. The try with Gallen, Gardner and scored by de Gois was a real nice one.

Peachey held his own when he came on with 15 mins left. Played right edge, replacing Tupou I think.

Was a bit confusing keeping track of the centres and wings. Leutele played left centre after Stapo was KO'd and his defence was great. Jonathan Wright was good too on left wing. I can't remember seeing much of Matt Wright.

Hookers... De Gois started and finished, Morris big minutes in the middle, but neither stood out heaps. Morris to me still doesn't really target blind side or switch play up enough.

Couple more things...

If it was Townsend who threw the final pass for Mills' try that was nice play, bit of a run-around type play. Chad and Gordon look a bit similar out there. I tend to downplay Townsend a bit so he probably deserves credit here.

And a couple of collectors item now out there: Ben Ross autographed the front of Michael Gordon's jumper while he was himself signing autographs. And some blonde girl had a nice chest autograph from one of our stars ;)

Does anyone know if Alipate Ratini played?

Gibbs is our most important forward IMO. Including Gallen. That's a huge blow.

Surely this forces gal into the front row... He and fifita need to start there imo, also allows us to play a bench of ross, tupou, bukuya and morris/de gois.

Definitely a massive loss, gibbs does alot for us particularly in defense.
