Wilson - go eat a dick

THE Cronulla Sharks' NRL future has received a massive boost with news property developers at their Woolooware home base have offered to throw in an extra $10 million cash.

The Daily Telegraph can reveal Sharks directors have been in finance talks for several weeks to raise funds to pay off a $3 million bank loan and form a war chest to deal with ASADA expenses.

Sharks chairman Damian Keogh says the cash advance is an option the club’s board is seriously considering.

"The offer is there for up to $10 million," Keogh said.

"And there are another couple of possibilities too which we’re currently looking at."

Cronulla was always guaranteed $28 million from sales at the $300 million redevelopment over the next five years.

Under a new arrangement, $10 million would be upfront and then $18 million in stages.

The gain for developers is that the money would immediately clear a $3 million St George Bank debt and release any rights the bank had over land.

They also need the Sharks securely entrenched in the NRL to ensure strong property sales in an already booming Shire market.

The gain for the club is getting rid of the debt and securing the funds to pay what is shaping up as a hefty ASADA fine and legal expenses.

The Sharks have been under the spotlight since reports emerged last week that the NRL was looking at them as a possible relocation club in Queensland.

Keogh says he is not concerned by the speculation.

The money would put the Sharks in a far stronger financial position than their neighbours St George-Illawarra and most of their Sydney rivals, apart from Canterbury.

"Like everything else that has happened this year, this is is only galvanising support amongst our club, our members and our fans," he said.

"Sometimes things like this can work in your favour when the community rallies.

"Unlike about five other clubs who have gone to the NRL for grants in advance, we’re trading well and our cash flow is fine.

"The improvement at the club between April and September is quite staggering."

I bet that both Boubon Becky and her puppy dog Hooper are currently looking for more bull**** stories to write about us in the hope that it may cause us to lose these funds. Everyone knows that opinions are like ass holes and that everyone has one, but God I wished theirs bled profusely until the whole ASADA stuff is sorted or the start of next season.

This will take off some of the short term heat although the developers are getting something out of it.

Security, if the sharks fold without paying the loan back St George bank gets a piece of the pie. This would cancel that out.

Nice. The club will save a stack in interest alone . So far the new board have been kicking some goals in my opinion. They have taken the reigns at a time when our financial situation and our public image have balanced on a knife edge and they've guided us through this difficult time as well as could possibly be expected. Starting show some real maturity and spine with their timing of releasing statements to, like Noyce last week and this today.

I just want us to remain solvent in the short term. Apart from that I want them to be doing what is in our long term best interests, whatever that may be. We need to set up a structure where we have multiple sources of ongoing revenue.

She works for the same paper, why send her a copy? She's laughing either way.

Wilson, hooper and massoud have been quiet. I bet it burns them seeing it get published. Either that or they're busy rubbing three brain cells together trying to find a way to spin it back against us.

Loan leak worries Sharks

Sharks officials were not happy about the story leaking that property developers had offered them another $10 million cash advance up front to pay off their final loan and deal with ASADA expenses. The money will secure the club's future in the Shire and pay for more immediate improvements to their Leagues club facilities. Board members were hoping the NRL would remain under the impression the club was struggling financially and couldn’t afford a big fine from ASADA and get a more lenient penalty.
